if seating is the goal, the island could be built like this, extending into the other room.
for an "L" shaped island, this wood topped section might be an option. by giving it a completely different look than the island, it looks appropriate. Of course, the only reason to do all of this is if there is a storage, electrical, or appliance placement need that warrants an L shaped island vs just putting a table/rolling island there.
here is a way to put color in the kitchen! since we have a beam that will separate the kitchen from the other room, this might be a way to make a pop... also, this may be a way to dress the beam,
wonder if doing a ceiling like this would help to give the elevated appearance in the kitchen. of course, could just make it darker....
could put caster rollers on a work table that has storage below it. this would allow us to roll food and serving ware to the dining room from kitchen, or move the table when space dictates
coffered ceilings might make sense in our kitchen. Good storage / use of space around fridge.
This is a nice hallway, and you can get your color de la moda. And has your white picture frames...
