Floor Lamp, White

cheaper than WE/similar

Brooklyn Floor Lamp

Also a nice darker warm grey I would like this room a lot more if the blues of the lamps + the chair in the foreground were a bit deeper/darker.

The ceilings are almost TOO high here (looks almost like a hotel), but goddamn that seems like a great place to read a book

Grey with burnt orange With a different rug And not that wall art Agree with different rug. And I said this before, but I'll say it again: what on fucking earth is that "artful" feather duster?

Metal Glass Table Lamp

Q

This is stupid expensive, but it'd be cool for a bedside table lamp (I also realize that this is not in fact a sectional) I wanna say this is one of those items that is going to look a little kitchy down the road, but I'm ok with kitchy if we both really like it. I don't know how practical this will actually be though yeah, practicality + kitch-i-ness are probably reasons to avoid it ... at least at $100/pop. I'm sure we could find a cheaper version that worked just as well if we really want to scratch that if-thomas-edison-had-a-furniture-company itch Haha

This couch is way too black, but I like how with lots of natural light + use of white colors, they end up creating a room that feels really light. Also, I love giant bookcases. SY: I'm down with giant bookcases - need a place for all my law books that I've authored.

Here's a sectional with similar (I think) dimensions as ours and also with kind of a similar window set up. This could look nice DK: Agree on setup, but I think the room is all over the place (esp. with colors)

Q

This is just a cool room DK: Yeah!!

Like the blue/green in the grey. But definitely would've done a different rug DK: Yeah, the rug kills this room. I have a hard time imagining how light/dark that couch is when it's there. Also, I can just tell that our couch is 10000x more comfortable than this.

This is a cool grey with green tone Very cool. Also cool considering our green backsplash

Maybe a light warm grey I could get on board with I really like the feel of this room but I'm not sure we can achieve it bc it is mostly cool colors (including wall, floor), etc. Wonder if this means we should lean toward more beigy colors, but I don't want it to be bland I really like this room as well (I mean, blue is my favorite color ...). I don't think it's make-or-break depending on the wall color. But we can always go for something a bit more vibrant/rich and less subdued (my table is a deep walnut; the Van Gogh is a deep/rich blue with flecks of orange, etc.)

Colorful pillows on neutral couch TOO MANY PILLOWS! I like the colors, but they're so ... scattered? There's so many of them? I also prefer square pillows. Yeah I know it's too many pillows -- way too many - I was just saying it's still possible to do colorful pillows even with a beigy couch. agreed on square pillows Got it. I think Beigy couches end up looking/feeling a bit ... anemic (?) to me when contrasted with really colorful pillows. Beige couch + lots of white + sandy colors? Warm (if a bit dull/uninspired). Beige couch + lots of colorful pillows? The beige ends up feeling washed out to me.
