Not so much the color, but the island style will bring the current kitchen cabinets a more traditional feel -- the turned legs make it feel like furniture -- can really throw some money into the island to make that the focal point so everything else is just the backdrop

maybe these dressier handles might help the cabinets? don't like the open/glass ones, but like the others. Soft aqua walls are nice too, but the stools are too much aqua, I think.

I like these light fixtures as well...cabinets are a bit too fancy, but I like the color. I don't like the Italianate backsplash.
