This homeowner wanted to be able to swim laps, so the length of this pool in southern Germany was more important than its width. Because it’s on a hillside, it was a challenge to install, which is why the terrace has been extended and built up. Now the pool can be accessed on the same level as the living room and terrace. The concrete wall on the right offers privacy from the neighbors, and a waterfall shower adds interest and fun for the kids. Stuttgart is surrounded by many vineyards, and some of them are seen here, along with typical German homes.

This special use pool design reflects the owners style and taste. A realistic approach to mind, body and soul encompassing exercise and relaxation, all fit into a 20' wide back yard. Space was very limited but the final product is stunning.

Ice blue glass mosaics and creamy limestone decking give this modern backyard a cool and refreshing feel. A swimming pool doubles as a water feature for backyard entertaining.

This pool is 10 metres by 1.8 metres. Ideally to do laps the ideal pool would be 20 metres in length and at least 2 metres wide. However most people do not have that room to accommodate 20 metres. 10 metres is the minimum.
