2. Double-Vanity Functionality Double vanities equipped with two sinks continue to entice couples who share bathrooms and people whose children share a bathroom. In this classic black-and-white bath by JDP Interiors, the pair of mirrors with matching sconces overhead enhances the pleasing symmetry. Tip: Cut eucalyptus branches can bring some aromatherapy into a bathroom. Crush a leaf for a relaxing scent while bathing or showering, or take in its scent before going to bed.Find a local bathroom designer

1. Wood-and-Gold GreatnessDesigner: Clara Jung of Banner Day ConsultingLocation: Brooklyn, New YorkSize: About 44 square feet (4 square meters); 8 by 5⅓ feetHomeowners’ request. “The bathroom we started with had builder-grade finishes and fixtures,” says designer Clara Jung, who collaborated with her clients using a Houzz ideabook. “The clients wanted to elevate this guest bathroom, since it would be the one guests use most often. Closed storage for toiletries was another request.”Space saver. “We skipped a glass enclosure for the shower and stuck with a traditional shower curtain to keep it very open and flowing,” Jung says. “Additionally, a curtain provides better access to the controls when giving kids a bath.”Find a bathroom designer near you
