I did a search on houzz and this is a kitchen with blue pearl granite and marble backsplash[houzz=] And here is one with white tile backsplash. [houzz=] Both are nice, but I feel subway tile is charming.

One year later and the journey is done. I went with waterworks tile color mercury gloss !!! I decided I had to have an insert after all. I absolutely love the color its a soft grey blue. The blue grout would of looked awful so glad I went with white grout. Thank you so much to all with helped me. Houzz was a great resource for me !!! Kathi you really helped me . I will try to post a better photo.
