Janet's Ideas
I like the material used for backsplash and counter. Are there any downsides to consider? Also like the hood centered on the island. Durable, low-maintenance polished slabs made from glass, porcelain and quartz form the backsplash, countertops and range hood. The ultracompact surface has a light cream-toned base with fine, pale veining that mimics natural quartzite and offers strong resistance to heat, scratches and stains. The island top is thicker than the perimeter counters. “It provides a visual link to the island,” Winn says. “Since the island top extends to allow for seating with the bar stools, I think it would have looked odd if it was as thin at the island.” Visually, the material “simplifies the space,” Winn says, “minimizing the materials used in the kitchen.” Used above the new 48-inch, six-burner gas rangetop, it “also provides ‘white space’ or a mental break when you’re looking at a space,” Winn says. “The hood breaks it up instead of cabinets running straight across.”
like this general style but maybe with river rocks between the stones
patio material looks low maintenance
lots of entertaining areas yet low maintenance!
this looks so inviting - pebble paths and shaded structure for al fresco dining
like the vibe of this outdoor area - low maintenance patio for sitting and convo, lights, natural low maintenance planting - but mine would need some shade
love decks but needs to be low maintenance
like large cement tiles like these with pebbles around it and natives planted around it
like natural look with low maintenance CA natives planted around it
firepit that will allow skewering kabob sized steak or marshmallows without worry of mess on the ground
very pretty kitchen - light, elegant
very pretty kitchen - like the backsplash, counters, floors; like the blue but don't want to be locked into a color long term in the kitchen
subtle, pretty backsplash
convenient counter storage for often used appliances like Blendtec blender, instant pot, rice cooker
stone around the fireplace also feels simple, classic and elegant; like the darker exposed beams
nice simple mantle, built in shelves plus a little storage
area for reading, looking out to beautiful view from window
love idea of a comfy place to relax, read, look out window
nice simple mantle
simple & elegant and clean looking with display area area and storage
glam and comfortable looking
built in book shelf on a whole wall
pretty tiles around a simple mantle
simple mantle - a bit rustic
colors are soothing and looks like larger format tiles in the shower; would like to have a floating bench in there too.
very pretty and simple - I've always liked classic look of marble, the medicine cabinets look like they provide storage /hidaway for every day items like lotions
simple and elegant but needs a little pizazz maybe from pretty vanity lights
simple and elegant vanity though I would like larger panels on shower surround - less grout cleaning and some type of non slip floors; like the low step in shower and the faucet you can reach in to warm water before getting in :)
glass sconces classic yet practical in a bathroom
classic, elegant and pretty
like the simplicity and clean look with smart storage
banquette
love the idea of a banquette; this ones pretty with the view and practical with the storage
very pretty kitchen - like the zellige style tiles in herringbone pattern
interesting way of bringing warmth of wood to island
nice clean simple look; only thing is not crazy about the subway tiles
very pretty overall - nice balance between the wood and the white
like the appliance garage
like the stove/ oven configuration; not sure about the wood shelf above stove and I like herringbone detail but not necessarily as a backsplash as Im worried about practicality for clean up; I mentioned i like the color of the wood finish in another view of this kitchen but don't like the orange tone of the flooring
walnut colored finish cabinets with the white upper ones(not necessarily so many in the horizontal drawer/cabinet configuration; like the waterfall peninsula but not the sharp corners
I like the color/tone of this wood island
like the idea of white cabinets and wood base on the island but the wood counter top is interesting too!
like these simple benches
white upper cabinets, wood lower and natural looking quartzite light counters and backsplash; medium toned floors
like the design of the range with smooth (easy to clean )back splash, counter space on either side, hood and smooth walls on the alcove; maybe a little bit darker wood - tone is a little too honey for me
