Janet's Ideas

like the design of the range with smooth (easy to clean )back splash, counter space on either side, hood and smooth walls on the alcove; maybe a little bit darker wood - tone is a little too honey for me

Q

Photo

wondering if a modified reverse layout (fridge wall on opposite side) similar to this with stove, island, and dining table locations could work for our expanded kitchen

Q

Photo

like the wood slat look of tile wall (though not sure if keeping it clean looking will be a challenge) and like the design on the shower floor; too much grout (to clean) with the square tiles on sides though lol

Q

Photo

like the aesthetics of this Bathroom

Q

Photo

thin black frame on shower is a nice idea

Q

Photo
Photo

like the medium tone of these wood floors

Q

Photo
Photo

like the plain sawn white oak wood tone with white cabinet and warm countertop - but not the layout with stove in corner

Q

Photo

like the white cabinet design and colors combo plus the hood design and cafe appliances - counter and backsplash a little too bold for my taste - like more subtle veining

I like the material used for backsplash and counter. Are there any downsides to consider? Also like the hood centered on the island. Durable, low-maintenance polished slabs made from glass, porcelain and quartz form the backsplash, countertops and range hood. The ultracompact surface has a light cream-toned base with fine, pale veining that mimics natural quartzite and offers strong resistance to heat, scratches and stains. The island top is thicker than the perimeter counters. “It provides a visual link to the island,” Winn says. “Since the island top extends to allow for seating with the bar stools, I think it would have looked odd if it was as thin at the island.” Visually, the material “simplifies the space,” Winn says, “minimizing the materials used in the kitchen.” Used above the new 48-inch, six-burner gas rangetop, it “also provides ‘white space’ or a mental break when you’re looking at a space,” Winn says. “The hood breaks it up instead of cabinets running straight across.”

Q

Photo

This type of modular floor is interesting for a surface for a ping pong table

Q

Photo

Like the wood plank imprint look - is this more expensive than block walls?

Q

Photo

another view of kitchen with mixed metals and wood island

Q

Photo

liked the way they mixed use of metal tones in this kitchen to give it a custom look; also like the wood tone on the island cabinets

Q

Photo

exploring the idea of removing wood burning fireplace and replacing with gas like this one

Q

Photo

white cabinets offset by wood island

Q

Photo

white upper cabinets/wood lower - very clean and elegant; also like the backsplash

Q

Photo

I like the idea of shade cloths that can easily be pulled over or retracted. I wonder how durable and easy to maintain/replace they are.

Q

Photo
Photo

simple and pretty

Q

Photo

inviting sitting area doubles as dining area right off the home

Q

Photo
Photo

like the multiple low maintenance patios and appears to be artificial turf that's also low maintenance, but visually appealing

Q

Photo

love stone steps like these too

Q

Photo

cool sitting area with integrated deck and fire pit in the gravel

Q

Photo

low maintenance and pretty too

Q

Photo

love natural paths like these

Q

Photo

nice to have a few raised garden beds - not this large but we do have rabbits and critters that like to share the bounty

Q

Photo

CA native garden

Q

Photo

love plantings of natives like these

Q

Photo

would be cool to have a small zen garden area :)

Q

Photo

large cement pavers with low maintenance pebbles , al fresco dining under stars and lights

Q

Photo

like this general style but maybe with river rocks between the stones

Q

Photo

patio material looks low maintenance

Q

Photo

lots of entertaining areas yet low maintenance!

Q

Photo

this looks so inviting - pebble paths and shaded structure for al fresco dining

Q

Photo

like the vibe of this outdoor area - low maintenance patio for sitting and convo, lights, natural low maintenance planting - but mine would need some shade

Q

Photo

love decks but needs to be low maintenance

Q

Photo

like large cement tiles like these with pebbles around it and natives planted around it

Q

Photo

like natural look with low maintenance CA natives planted around it

Q

Photo

firepit that will allow skewering kabob sized steak or marshmallows without worry of mess on the ground

Q

Photo

very pretty kitchen - light, elegant

Q

Photo

very pretty kitchen - like the backsplash, counters, floors; like the blue but don't want to be locked into a color long term in the kitchen

Q

Photo

subtle, pretty backsplash

Q

Photo

convenient counter storage for often used appliances like Blendtec blender, instant pot, rice cooker

Q

Photo

stone around the fireplace also feels simple, classic and elegant; like the darker exposed beams

Q

Photo

nice simple mantle, built in shelves plus a little storage

Q

Photo

area for reading, looking out to beautiful view from window

Q

Photo

love idea of a comfy place to relax, read, look out window

Q

Photo

nice simple mantle

Q

Photo

simple & elegant and clean looking with display area area and storage

Q

Photo

glam and comfortable looking

Q

Photo

built in book shelf on a whole wall

Q

Photo

pretty tiles around a simple mantle

Q

Photo

simple mantle - a bit rustic

Q

Photo

colors are soothing and looks like larger format tiles in the shower; would like to have a floating bench in there too.

Q

Photo

very pretty and simple - I've always liked classic look of marble, the medicine cabinets look like they provide storage /hidaway for every day items like lotions

Q

Photo

simple and elegant but needs a little pizazz maybe from pretty vanity lights

Q

Photo

simple and elegant vanity though I would like larger panels on shower surround - less grout cleaning and some type of non slip floors; like the low step in shower and the faucet you can reach in to warm water before getting in :)

Q

Photo

glass sconces classic yet practical in a bathroom

Q

Photo

classic, elegant and pretty

Q

Photo

like the simplicity and clean look with smart storage

Q

Photo

banquette

Q

Photo

love the idea of a banquette; this ones pretty with the view and practical with the storage

Q

Photo

very pretty kitchen - like the zellige style tiles in herringbone pattern

Q

Photo

interesting way of bringing warmth of wood to island

Q

Photo

nice clean simple look; only thing is not crazy about the subway tiles

Q

Photo

very pretty overall - nice balance between the wood and the white

Q

Photo

like the appliance garage

Q

Photo

like the stove/ oven configuration; not sure about the wood shelf above stove and I like herringbone detail but not necessarily as a backsplash as Im worried about practicality for clean up; I mentioned i like the color of the wood finish in another view of this kitchen but don't like the orange tone of the flooring

Q

Photo

walnut colored finish cabinets with the white upper ones(not necessarily so many in the horizontal drawer/cabinet configuration; like the waterfall peninsula but not the sharp corners

Q

Photo

I like the color/tone of this wood island

Q

Photo

like the idea of white cabinets and wood base on the island but the wood counter top is interesting too!

Q

Photo
Photo

like these simple benches

Q

Photo

white upper cabinets, wood lower and natural looking quartzite light counters and backsplash; medium toned floors
