I like the way the pergola sits on a wall. If a wall extended out from our house at the end by the shed (past nursery window), I could put the rounded gate I want in it and rest the pergola on that.

Elegance of the wooden door frames and rounded header beam. I also like the two wide, short steps from the house.

Doors are awesome, tiles are fun. Would love to do tiles like this outside the Master. Would be cool to salvage some from an old bath house.

Brick facade on wall in background and wood beams. Has a ranch/barn/winery feel.

Step down from dining area to Master patio would help create the sensation of separate spaces

Maybe pergola posts distal to the house are columns that coordinate with the retaining wall; giving the area a more enclosed, indoor-outdoor feel.

One idea for a subtle separation between the covered dining area and the Master Bedroom hot tub sanctuary.

Build kitchen counter against existing stucco retaining wall, (so existing wall becomes back& backsplash for cabinets). No fancy appliances necessary other than a grill (maybe just space for a green egg)
