Bigger isn’t always better. Small, more manageable pools like the one seen here in a Dallas backyard by Alterra Landscape Design.
These smaller designs typically range in size from 4,000 to 7,500 gallons and can be heated to hot tub temperatures or cooled to plunge pool comfort.

LOVE this layout - loungers on the pool deck/patio area with the covered outdoor living area with fireplace - this is really nice.

love this set-up - smaller spa tho like 10'x16' and 48-52" deep.

Similar to the pic with the swim up bar...like the outdoor living space next to the pool/spa. The pool/spa is not large and that is what we want.

We like the size of this pool/spa and the stonework surrounding it.

The size of this pool/spa looks about right. I like the built in ledges/seats with a space in the middle to actually 'plunge'.

I like this setup - lounger space, smaller pool/spa and an area to have our outdoor patio table and chairs.

Stainless Steel Spa with Interior Stairway, Bench Seating, and Automatic Retracting Cover. 72" x 108" x 36"

Needs more seating built in around the perimeter of the pool but this is a nice size and allows for loungers to surround it. Don't like the planters - this was just to show the lounger space by the smaller pool.

I'm still not giving up on the idea of an outdoor shower. I'd still enjoy having one with hot and cold water so I can hose off mud and debris I don't want clogging my indoor pipes - like dog hair too!

Would like a dedicated work area to pot plants. Doesn't have to be grandiose.
