This is my favorite dining room. I love the window seat, plus the french doors on both sides. I envision one side leading to a screened in porch featuring a seating area, and the other side leading to a patio with a grill. On a practical note, I like that the vents (and hopefully an outlet or two) are build into the window seats ... really minimizes their presence.

This is the same concept as my main inspiration photo, albeit with more benches than seats. I actually prefer the more traditional seating of the previous photo, but I like the fabric used in the chairs here.

Okay, so I will never have this view in Iowa. But, I suppose that this proves that I must like the idea of the dining area surrounded by windows and a bench for lounging.

I don't think that I'd use this bookcase approach from a practical perspective (the visual clutter would bug me), but there is something about the feel of this place that is just very appealing. Do check out the windows ... I love the look of these, though not sure that's the best option if I want to incorporate the window seat alongside them.

With all of the white trim work in this space, there will be very little color. I love the idea of a painted ceiling that picks up a slightly darker color than our gray neutral, maybe even with a little shimmer. I like cozy dining areas, so I don't want a high ceiling in this space.
