Ipe furniture refinishing help

I purchased a used ipe outdoor dining set.
The previous owner used watco teak oil and it was very dark.
After much research and discussions with a Penofin, here is what I did.
1. Stripped and scrubbed off old paint with Benjamin moore revive
2. Penofin cleaner and scrub
3. Penofin brightener.
4. Let dry 1 week and applied penofin hardwood oil.
All followed as directed, oil was backwiped after 20 minutes etc.
Shortly after applying oil, same day, I noticed a yellow, almost sawdust like residue on the surface.
Waited a good week or so
I cleaned it, sanded with 80 grit, machine and hand, and then brightened again.
I did not reapply oil yet as the residue is there still.
Not sure what to do next. Anyone have any similar experience?

My best guess is that it's the old Watco oil. It may have absorbed deep into the wood, and now, after being softened by all the cleaners and the Penofin, it's gradually oozing out.

You could try soaking it with mineral spirits, then scrape it off and re-sand aggressively.

Thanks! Makes sense, I was also told something similar regarding residual teak. They suggested stripping again. Might try both methods out in different spots and see what works best.
