Kitchen idea modular

The builder has given a kitchen with just the thick slab no woodwork. Should I get modular wood work done with slab intact or break the slab and then get it done?

Hello Pooja,

Building the base cabinets with existing slab would be more cost effective.

However, if you don't like the slab provided or want some changes in the kitchen slab placements then you can remove it and do it after the kitchen base cabinet is ready.

Th one provided by the builder is the thick slab and not the one used in modular kitchens.

Thats a usual practice amongst some builders . So what is your doubt now.

As the weight would be borne by the walls doing a cabinetry work below that slab should not be a concern.

If you want to remove and re do it based on your choices that's also feasible. It will be a slightly costlier approach.

My doubt was around looks of the traditional slab vs thin slab which is used nowadays. Will that be a compromise?

If the slab is anywhere between 20 -40 mm thickness it should be ok.
