Need suggestions to redesign my apartment !

I live in a small rented apartment which is one BHK .. the design is open kitchen and the living and dining are is long. There are two balconies and the bed room is quite small too with a bathroom . I have been living here for a year and would like to redecorate . We are a small and young family of three . Our baby is 2 years old .

hi. A large carpet will make the cold flooring more inviting. Ensure it us big enough to fill the space between the tv cabinet and under the front legs of your sofa. A framed paintingbehind the sofa wall and another above the dining.

u can change the curtains and choosing colours such as royal blue, velvet etc. will create the whole space more inviting and also by adding carpet with solid colours such as beige or dark brown colour but not the larger one as it will make the room look shorter and also u can add indoor plants for that warmth in the space

You can install log wallpaper on the wall right behind the sofa in the living room. You can hang one floating chair where the love seat is located in the room, and put a love seat or a regular chair facing it. My advice is to have only one chair hanging, and not the whole set as it is shown in the picture you attached. This way, the hanging chair will have more impact. Also, make sure you balance the room on both sides. Meaning, if you hang a floating chair on the left, put something with the same visual volume on the right (floor lamp, plant, sculpture....) Notice in the second picture i attached how the two chairs are balanced with two table lamps of the same visual weight and height.

Hi Suneet, I feel there are a couple of things you could do. -You can start with pulling the furniture closer to the carpet. -Buy a couple of cushions for the maroon sofa. Bottle green or olive green would go well. -If you don't have a centre/coffee table, I recommend you buy one. -Side tables with table lamps will make space appear quite cosy and warm. The above-mentioned things would help you define the seating area. If your budget allows, go ahead and paint the walls to a mildly darker tone. Hope this helps. Feel free to get in touch with us.

OK Vivek, that was a suggestion, it is manageable but please take your call. However, this 2 nd floor plan may need a discussion. Ideally, a kitchen meant for a studio and a 4 .5 bedroom house should not be of the same size. You may want to increase the size of kitchen looking at the size of 2nd and 3rd floor layouts. 'One size fits all' may not work. ;) We just have a common bath for residents of 3 rooms plus the guests? Are you sure it is sufficient? Thanks, Nitin CORNERSTONE DESIGNS Bangalore.

You can possibly wall-mount the TV in the corner thus utilizing space and making it safe for the baby. Additionally, you can replace the TV unit with a corner table underneath.

Look for furnitures with built in storage for bedroom.

Check if you can repurpose patio for anything like dinning, consider room dividers or partitions and use for storage etc.

Your baby needs safe space to walk and run. Please remember to baby proof the house.

If you will use dark coloured curtains then u can also use calm wallpaper.

get rid of those curtains, the wall clock. go for a single urtain instead of double, a lighter shade. hange wall color to bright colours, tht yellow is looking sad. change your lighting scheme. go for brighter lighting with better control.

Do you have a budget in mind.. Being a let out place there would be some limitations on the decoration that can be done...e.g wallpapers..

The sheer curtains looks good. The thick curtains can be changed into a plain one (neutral grey maybe) instead of a patterned one as it looks crowded.

The tv can be wall mounted. Remove the decorative items kept on the tv unit. Reposition the black loveseat to near the sofa at an angled position.

The cushions on the sofa needs some colors. Maybe you can match the colour of the cushions/throws to a painting . Painting can be hung on the wall above the sofa.

Go for trendy curtains and place contrast cushions on the sofa instead of pillows. Add cushions of different sizes

u can probably apply a shiny blue wallpaper with yellow lighting. that will make your drawing room look royal or paint your walls white and get your roof done fancy.....

The colour scheme is too scattered in this room. Adding a rug and a wall paper (that complements each other on one of the wall), reupholstered sofas will freshen up the room completely. If you have a good budget you may consider to change the TV unit and coffee table since all wooden furniture is different colour.

hi.... check those cabinets down the tv....they look quite boring just attach them to wall....after leaving some space from the floor....dis will add up space to the area....also...Just redesign ur sofa....don't go for bright colours as we are bored of them....after a while.....
