Unplattable i'm guessing :) As an alternative, look into laminated particle board. If the termites eat thru that lamination to get to the wood...then they are very serious and i would move

Particle board (Cost effective with wide range of applications) MDF (Very economical & durable and much preferred these days) Plywood (applications are limited because of relatively high costs but it has the highest resistance to water exposure, even higher than solid wood) for hardware you can go for hafele/hettich/ozone.

Hi Rohit. Two materials need to be considered for wardrobes - 1. Carcass and 2. Finish. Wardrobes do well with Plywood. Shutters are best done in HDF or high quality MDF as they take finishes much better. Depending on the colours, style and concept for the room room aesthetic, you could potentially choose from a plethora of finishing materials out there. If you prefer a wood look and have the budget for it, Veneers in all kinds of designs are available. If you are looking for something extremely durable which is also cost effective then laminates (HPL) are your friends. Back painted glass looks gorgeous on a sliding wardrobe but it is the most expensive of all commonly available options. Some unsolicited advise - Avoid lofts above sliding wardrobes. Hope this helps!
