Red tall grass is reed grass. The low broad leaved plant is day lily and the low one is opiopogon.

Astroturf can be a good alternative to real grass - easy to maintain, no water or soil needed and can be easily removed or relocated. Make sure you invest in good quality astroturf! I would suggest go for the synthetic turf for your roof which is porous with great drainage system built in.

Hi Namrata - The grass height doesn't matter as much as the grass density (i.e. the number of stitches per sq meter) - higher the better. The below balcony from one of my projects uses turf with a height of 25 mm and density of 18000 stitches/ m2 . Hope this helps!
