nben1, Hi, I would open a 42" to 45" opening on both ends of the wall between living and study. That would leave room for a TV with components in a unit below. A desk would be nice in the back left corner of the study, with art or photo above, a chair in the back right corner and a chaise or small sofa on the wall behind the tv. That would make everything look roomier and make the study more inviting. In the living an L shaped seating would be nice floating with a small console behind. Good luck!

Your right. I think it might look better without the couch. We just purchased the gray couch and moved the brown couch there until we sell it. Now that the brown couch is there my husband likes it. He likes to read his newspaper in the morning on it. I was thinking of putting a side table in place of the couch of getting a cover for it.

Want to paint some badly finished furniture with water based latex paint. Can you advise which product to use (those available in India)? Not getting much help from paint company personnel. What is a good quality primer that you would recommend? If I first paint it with flat paint and later want to change it to semi-gloss, do I have to remove the first paint? do I have to re-prime it?
