They are best suited to help you. also have a budget. the how to part is nice but most consumers have no idea that the pendants above are probably 300.00 each. Your chandelier is a bit high, so all it is lighting is the ceiling. You could a light with a floor lamp in the corner for reading on the sofa, and a table lamp next to the bed. Other ways to add more subtle lighting would include an uplight or two to wash a wall. Start with lowering the chandelier a foot or so and adding the lamps. See if that doesn't help. Ignore anyone who says to remove the ceiling fans, because it looks as if you live in a warmer climate and you really need them.

@BeverlyFLADeziner: No, I'm not assuming the back has a finish. If you are referring to the cable being visible, or the approach to route it under the sofa would not work, there are two options: Align the table so that the "backless" back is up against the side of the sofa. So, flip it 90deg compared to the image of a sample sofa and this table posted earlier. The cable can be stuck along the curved edge of the table on the back, so that it is not visible. This way, it gets down to the floor along a surface that people cannot see as opposed to dangling through the hollow portion of the table.
