Clay Studio cum Store

The client is a clay artist and wanted her space to be flexible, non-fussy, slightly wild and natural as opposed to polished and modern. Our design directions led to this quaint space which is housed in an Old Goan House and we worked with minimum changes in order to keep the timeline short, budgets in check. Some of the small design changes that resulted in big gains were:
1. Window treatments: we got rid of grills and patterned glass. The front window gave opportunity for a display.
2. Lighting: Maximised the use of natural light and used spot lights for efficient and flexible lighting.
3. Floor treatment: We used floor paint that promises to hold for a few years. This let us change the look drastically and worked well by covering the existing busy terracotta floor.
