“Ideal” is the word, most homeowners seek. The word means specific but not limited. In India, the indefinite search for idea often veers towards the idea of space. So, when our firm found ourselves with sprawling 3,200- sq. ft. property in the outskirts of Vadodara, then we knew what button to push. The duplex penthouse at a multi-dwelling housing project sits side by side with open greenery and farmland. The designers at ace associates made sure that the client requirement of “light and openness” didn’t just end with outdoors, ace associates decide to tap into the inherent calm and light of the space. “The house with its infinite view, came with nature. It was almost raw. So we decided to work with the openness of the space. The first break through in this direction came with the UPVC windows that sparked off the first of the many designs dialogues here. In continuation embedded clean, contemporary design into all section of this modern home.
The ground floor is set in the color palette of ivory, white and beige, and contrasting with classical paintings and also crafts. the composition is an elegant and classical language , which us quite apt considering this section of the house- which comprises bedroom , living room , dining area, utility and store room –is meant for the homeowner’s ageing parents . The mood, therefore, is serene.

The first floor allows a bit of colors with calming hues of blue in the master bedroom, with the space designed in a semi-classical style through molding , accessories, abstract painting . The minimalist design philosophy runs through the intricate detailing of the house. Be it the furnishing in muted colors or the accessories and lighting, the designers apply the power of “less is more” to echo the inherent calmness of the surrounding.
