It's not every day that we get to convert a large spare room into a master bath, and this project offered us just that opportunity. The space was originally a small unused sitting room outside the client's master bedroom. We started with a palette inspired by nature and the client's love of gardening, reflected in the floral motif of a custom stained glass window, pebble tile on the shower floor, and a blossom print on the window treatments. A large free-standing soaking tub and frame-less glass shower with rain head provide ample space for bathing. A freestanding sink cabinet with a cherry plank floor and a large medicine cabinet above provide storage and interest. Outside of the main area and up a step there is a toilet closet and an additional small sink for washing up, providing privacy in the main area. A heated limestone tiled floor will help ward off the cold Chicago winters.
