Contrast
Contrast simply means to show the difference between two objects when compared. Contrast is used in art to create visual interest and excitement. There are six types of contrast; colours (bright and dark), value (light value and dark value), texture (an object with a soft texture placed on an object with rough texture), space (positive and negative space), line (thick and think lines), and size (large objects and small objects). The wall in the background is an example of colour contrast. Black and white are placed together on the same wall so that the contrast between the two colours may create visual excitement.
