A large victorian family home situated on the banks of the river Thames in Buckinghamshire. Gemma Dudgeon Interiors was appointed to lovingly preserve the character and charm of the elegant period property whilst updating it to meet the needs of a busy, growing family. This included reconfiguring and extending part of the ground floor to create a more generous, sociable and light family space, with strong connections to the garden, that could accommodate the kitchen, informal dining and a pantry. The convoluted use of space on the first floor was transformed to create a much more practical and space efficient layout which includes a Master Suite that celebrates the views of the river and restores the original proportions and features of the Master Bedroom. Above all GDI ensured the client’s playfulness and love of colour was reflected in the interiors with the tile and colour choices playing a key role.
