Flamingo theme and Variation
The evocative and eye-catching flamingo paintings in the living room wall, capture and crystalize the theme of this contemporary décor. The peach colours of the flamingo are echoed in the throw cushions, carpets, and various other tastefully selected accessories.
The master and guest bedrooms however resonate with a more neutral palette, predominantly in earthy tones. Warm grey and cherry wood combinations are used for all the furniture in the common area, kitchen, master and guest rooms.
Another interesting feature of this design is the room divider idea, which is a furniture partition with an inbuilt bar cabinet and counter, between the living and dining rooms.
Batman strikes, in the bedroom
Batman comes alive in the 10-year-old boy’s bedroom, complete with a custom designed Batman headboard. Gotham city’s skyline looms large on the wall behind the bed with the lonely silhouette of the crime fighter and his cape fluttering on the top of a skyscraper. Shades of red, blue and yellow borrowed from marvel comics and pop art brighten up the room in the form of custom designed wall paper, the stars on the sheets, etc. A basketball loop, high on the wall, lends a maverick touch to the décor. All the elements are used exercising artistic restraint in the hallowed place where Batman lays his weary head to rest every night.
Where the World Traveler sleeps
The other teenage boy’s bedroom is a study in orange and white that explores world travel. Motifs of famous monuments from around the world pop up on the sheets, pillows and other areas. The boy’s name ‘Yash’ is boldly written on the headboard using 3D letters to emphasize his independence and identity. The room on the whole is tastefully decorated with maximum utilization of space.
Minimalistic Kitchen and Puja room
The modular kitchen is done in silver, chrome and grey elements and boasts of a digitally printed dado (or back-splash) glass. The minimalistic Puja Mandir (prayer area with Ganesha) completes this creatively designed contemporary styled apartment to suit the varied tastes of its inhabitants.
