When Poul Henningsen introduced his steel pipe furniture in 1932 to the "Copenhagen" conference in Fredericia – the industrial design exhibition in Denmark at the time – he received high praise for his minimalist and durable design. Poul Henningsen's design concept – based on fluid spirals and dynamic movements – is a constantly recurring theme in his work. Both in the design for furniture but also in relation to lamps, houses and in PH's exhibition architecture.
