THIS 1,345 SQFT MUMBAI HOME IS A STYLISH CARNIVAL OF COLOUR, TEXTURE & MORE...
The clients wanted a functional, homely, low-maintenance, uncluttered home that looked aesthetically stunning at the same time. In response to the brief, the firm went with warm colours, mingled with bursts of brightness either in the form of accessories or accent pieces. Typical European colours like sea-foam green and teal blue dominate the palette, while brick walls, patterned tiles and louvred windows provide ample texture and pattern. Most of the furniture has been built to specific requirements. The end product is a warm home full of character and style, which is easy to live in.
Happy are those who get to live in a vibrant, soulful, and enriching space. This Mumbai home is all this and then some more. Spread across 1,345sqft of space, Whitespace, a design firm known for its eclectic approach to design and innovative parlance with anything to do with the home, has done something truly special with this project. Crafted for a family of four, (a couple and their teenage daughter and son), Whitespace has created a vibrant expanse for the main living spaces where the whole family converges. The idea was to bring a smile to everyone’s face and pull the members towards these vivid areas, as opposed to staying within their own private spaces. Sometimes all it takes is colour…but Whitespace executes vibrant pockets throughout this house in one of the most refreshing manners possible.

Wrought-iron furniture in turquoise blue and a patterned floor (replicated from the lobby) make for a pretty Mediterranean-inspired balcony, completed by the ceiling-height vertical garden. The plants bring a much-needed splash of living nature that draws attention away from the urban landscape.
