An 1800 sq. ft apartment in Ahmedabad for a young family, the brief was to make it a vibrant space designed with maximum free space to allow their young kids to play. A simple material palette of Kotah stone and wood is used in the fixed furniture, with fabrics adding the colours and vibrancy, allowing for them to change the palette, if needed, in a couple of years without major changes. The earthy tones of the kotah and the wood are balanced by the bright colours of orange, red and yellow running through the space. A pivoted geometric screen at the vestibule gives privacy when guests are over, which can be opened up to for maximum visibility. The light element visually combines all the living spaces, making them flow into one another.
