“My wife and I asked Tom Maxwell to replace a built-in wardrobe and include a bookcase to the side of it as an integral feature. From our first meeting with him we were most impressed by his interest, enthusiasm, knowledge and advice. With his help we arrived at an initial design and then he suggested we consider that and review it at leisure. He provided us with detailed drawings with the full specifications and a price. After consideration we changed some particulars and discussed them with him and he provided revised drawings. We visited him at his workshop so that we could examine and handle the woods that we were thinking of having used for our project and Tom gave us a very full briefing on their nature and qualities. We discussed finishes and he told us what he thought would best suit our needs as we had outlined them to him. He was also very helpful in advising us on handles, fitments etc and it was a delight to work with him and share in his enthusiasm for what he did. After we had confirmed the final design he gave us a definitive price and a timescale. His execution of the project was first class. The old wardrobe was removed and the new one and its accompanying bookcase were installed with a minimum of fuss and disruption and we are absolutely delighted with the result and feel proud to own such a lovely and unique piece of furniture. We look forward with pleasurable anticipation to working again with Tom and have already made a proposal to him to tackle a very difficult and complicated piece of cabinet making. We would recommend Tom and his colleague without reservation.”

“We have consulted Julie Sinclair Interiors as our chosen local interior 'specialist' for a couple of jobs recently and have been very impressed at the high standard of work and customer care provided. Firstly, we required advice on a set of dining chairs that were tired and in need of a make-over and from the intitial choice of material to the finished task of re-covering them it was a wonderfully professional experience, one we would highly recommend. A bathroom window blind was next and the choice and finish available were superb - again a wonderful job thoughfully completed to our taste. Excellent work from begining to end.”

“We ordered a bespoke balcony and asked for a special order for glass n flooring which Bradfabs delivered without problems. Product great quality. “We've just had our old 70's staircase completely replaced by Thomas Ferns and what a difference it makes. The whole process was very straightforward from the initial design consultation to the removal and fitting of the new staircase. One of the many things we liked were the various examples of style and samples of wood and glass shown to us during the design consultation stage meaning we could readily envisage the finished product before we placed the order. When it came to fitting the new staircase Thomas and his team were meticulous workmen with a keen eye on attention to detail making sure that the finished product was just as we wanted. All in all considering the positive change its made to our house and the complete lack of hassle I wonder why we didn't replace our staircase sooner”

“When we wanted some bookshelves building, we didn't call a lot of people but of the ones we spoke to, Alastair of QDS really stood out against the others. Right from the start he was friendly, professional and very helpful. He used his measurements to create a 3D graphic of our room with the new bookshelves which made it really easy to then visualise them in the room. Between us we tinkered with the design until it was exactly what we wanted. We thought he was so good we've since had him back to build more shelves in our lounge and replace all of our upstairs doors. Every time they have been, Alastair and Mo (his apprentice) have been very professional, thorough and tidy. We've already got an idea for another job and we'll certainly be asking QDS back.”

“Stuart designed, created and fitted a tailor-made wardrobe for our main bedroom (the photo gives an idea of the wardrobe, but really doesn't do it justice). An extremely creative and talented craftsman, he listened carefully to our ideas and made very helpful and suitable suggestions regarding the design and materials. A perfectionist, he was very keen to produce work of a high standard, always bearing in mind our budget. He was flexible, adaptable and approachable when creating the design to our requirements. We would certainly recommend Stuart for anyone looking for an individualised, unique piece of furniture, tailored to a specific budget.”
