Curtis Lumber Burlington

We worked with Brian Smith at Curtis Lumber in Burlington. He was FANTASTIC. He carefully considered all of our ideas and was very confident in his recommendations. Our project turned out even better than we could have imagined.

Brian was very detailed, listened to all our ideas, spent many hours with us at our home, on the phone, or at his office. He forwarded drawings numerous times. We enjoyed working with him and we now have a beautiful kitchen and appreciated his efforts. He made the process much more pleasant than we expected. Would recommend him highly.

I worked with Brian Smith of Curtis Lumber to create our new kitchen and updated a nearby bathroom. His name came as a recommendation by a neighbor whose kitchen was recently updated. The location of Curtis Lumber was important to me for convenience and Brian was extremely patient with my many requests in trying to "get it right". By removing one wall in our kitchen, relocating the sink and appliances we created a more accommodating and efficient work space. Both spaces are so much better and brighter. Our cabinetry is beautiful and they all arrived without any issues! I highly recommend Brian and Curtis Lumber.

Brian Smith was very generous with his time and knowledge with us. We went over many options and details (I feel confident that we were in the upper percentile in this category, for which all blame lies with my brother) and Brian took it all in and come up with refined plans which resulted in a new and greatly expanded kitchen that still draws compliments from almost everyone who sees it. [I would have included photos, but did not see how to do so.]

Andrew at Curtis Lumber is great to work with. He's very knowledgeable and experienced, offering the insights we were looking for. We had a relatively healthy budget for cabinetry, but kitchen cabinetry has a funny way of getting out of control. Andrew gave us the aspects we wanted without the fluff factor in the cost. Our cabinets are all-plywood construction and we're very happy with the quality. When any issues arose, they were worked out to our satisfaction each and every time. Working with Andrew took a lot of the headaches out of our project.

I wanted to work with a local kitchen designer and chose Andrew Beecher at Curtis Lumber in Burlington VT. He was creative and had suggestions for our project that were cost effective. His knowledge about kitchen design was superior. Deliveries were always made on schedule. Andrew was delightful to work with and I would recommend him without hesitation.

Brian provided better design ideas than the architects had done, because he has good design sense but also knows the cabinet lines he sells very well. For example, he know what lines had standard cabinets in what increments, so he could quickly populate the kitchen with cabinets that are actually available and not custom made. He made several suggestions about workspaces that changed our ideas, and he went the extra mile to solve problems about how to fit more into a space. For example, he figured out how to have our builder build a cabinet for our freezer in a cost-effective way that used readily available components. He came out to the job site several times to personally deliver materials and see how things were going, and responded immediately with replacement shelves/doors/hinges when we needed them. Most important, he understood exactly what the builder meant with questions and answered quickly. In all, I'd say that he rates excellent on the "easy" things like honesty, being on time, accurate estimates, following up, and taking care of the customer, but he rates excellent on the harder things like design and technical knowledge too. What is more, he rates excellent on the interface between the builder who actually installs the product and himself.
