I worked with DeSantana Stone Company on a project last year. We ordered and installed a modern Italian limestone fireplace surround. There were many opportunities to make mistakes and they pretty much nailed it. As the stone was coming from Italy, any mistakes would cause serious delays, but they pulled it together. Installation is critical, the individual installing it was exceptional.

Jane was really great on the front end. We ended up buying hand cut limestone from Italy for the front door surround and a couple fireplaces. We hired an additional company as well and they worked together seamlessly. They have great product and it was a pleasure working with them.

I've had the privilege to have worked with DeSantana Stone on several projects over the past several years. Prior to learning about them, our custom stone with complex curves took much longer and was generally very costly. The talented group at DeSantana can take a sketch or drawings and give you a wonderful product. They have several sources for stone so they have a wide variety of color range to offer. They do stand behind their product and will work well with construction schedules. I would recommend them highly to anyone considering stone.

I have known and dealt with Jane Kennelly of DeSantana Stone for over 15 years. She and her company have always done what they say they are going to do, which is provide a product ( hand carved stone ) that a lot of my clients aren't even aware can be done. They are currently working on a job with me that includes an 18' tall door surround, 2 fireplaces,niches, a range hood and stone pavers. DeSantana Stone helps me as a home designer to stay just a little ahead of the rest.

As an architect, I had the pleasure of meeting the folks at De Santana almost two years ago at a national symposium for residential architects. I was impressed by the scope of their portfolio and provided them with the opportunity to work on a large single family estate we designed in central Maryland. I had a strong feeling that they would do well but after successfully connecting with my client and then coming in with a competitive bid, they secured the deal. On this project, they provided approximately 10,000 square feet of 24" x 24" tumbled travertine stone for the floors and a gorgeous custom, hand carved stone pedestal vanity with mirror surround for the main level powder room. In all aspects, De Santana was superb. Their patience with a demanding client, their communication with the construction manager and timely delivery of materials ensured a smooth job from beginning to end. Jane Kennelly and her team at De Santana delivered the passion and client commitment that I respect and without question, I plan to work with them for all of my architectural stone needs in the future.

Commented: Stair finishesThank you for your question. These Italian Limestone Treads are one piece up to 7' long and 2" thick. The treads have an ogee edge.
