Alex McFadyen from HB Design transformed my new condo into an upscale beautiful living space. Alex was extremely patient in helping me move from my Kerrisdale home, where I had spent 35 years, into a condo that required me to downsize by more than half. She understood what was important to me while gently guiding me into a more modern look for my old things, and adding to it to turn my condo into something out of a magazine while still retaining my personality. Alex never made me feel like I had one foot stuck in the past, even though I did! I am so happy with the result and Alex's work. On time, on budget and a fantastic job. The trades people Alex had were highly professional and very skilled. I highly recommend her design work.

HB worked with us in the renovation of our chalet in Whistler and we could not be happier clients. They are the full package. They came up with interior and exterior design concepts that were unique, stylish and suited our taste. They prepared detailed work drawings and had excellent interaction directly with the builder during construction. Finally, they provided invaluable assistance and contacts in sourcing furnishings to complete the look to finish the project off. We were undertaking a major “back to the studs” renovation in Whistler and our builder introduced us to Jennifer at HB Design for planning and co-ordinating the interior design. Right from the beginning, from our initial meeting, we knew we were in expert hands and working together on our somewhat daunting project would be a positive experience. Jennifer introduced us to her assistant Nicole who, under Jen’s guidance, has handled the lion’s share of our project. We feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to get to know and work with Nicole. She is professional, patient and willing to incorporate our ideas and to find the right product or finish. She is also an expert at delicately steering us away from personal mistakes! She is extremely knowledgeable and resourceful and her drawings and explanations have always been detailed and easy to follow. Nicole has related very well with our builder and his respective trades. Our project is now at the exciting stage where finishes are being installed. We know the end result will be a beautiful new home with amazing design and colour co-ordination both inside and out. Renovations are not easy but working with Jennifer, Nicole and Sherri, our “team” at HB Design has without doubt been a professional, rewarding and wise decision. We cannot recommend their services highly enough.

Jen Heffel is a creative and very talented designer who helped us create an amazingly beautiful and bright living space. I hired Tyra Moorecroft from HB Design to help me to completely furnish a four bedroom apartment in downtown Vancouver. Due to special circumstances, I had a very tight deadline and needed as much done as possible within a 2 week time frame. Tyra rose to the challenge and worked tirelessly for 2 weeks, replying to emails well past midnight. I am very happy with her design ideas and the end result is spectacular. Thank you Tyra.

Total apartment remodeling design and finishing which included major changes to layout. Specific attention was given to master bath, master bedroom and closet as well as kitchen. Several custom furniture pieces were developed. The result was a very creative and elegant use of space. Noteworthy was the choice of color, millwork, and fixtures. Tyra was very effective working with suppliers and trades. She took full ownership of any problems to successful resolution.

As a busy executive realtor, I value my limited free time. The experience of building my previous two homes was frustrating. For my first home, I did not engage professional design consultants.
