Our experience with Duane Slaymaker was amazing and a great pleasure. He took our ideas for built-in bookcases and turned them into a beautiful installation of fine cabinetry. The proportions of the cabinets, the attention to detail and the finish were all of the highest quality. Being a hobby woodworker of 40+ years myself, I can appreciate the differences between a cabinet builder/installer and a true craftsman. Duane is a gifted artisan and an artist.

Duane is a pro who is meticulous about workmanship, responsive, and embraces new ideas and challenges. We commissioned a modernist kitchen with flat panel cabinets, flush mounted door pulls, and tight tolerances and it turned out beautifully. The inevitable punch list items were quickly resolved. We highly recommend Duane and his work.

It is hard to put into words the amazing experience we had with The Wood Shed during our complete kitchen remodel. Duane made what could have been an overwhelming experience so much easier! He listened to all of our ideas while offering suggestions from his experiences. Duane is a skilled and experienced craftsman. From concept to completion he is professional, listens to ideas, makes suggestions and keeps his timeline. We love our upgraded custom cabinets, beautiful backsplash and gorgeous countertop. Thanks to Duane, I have more workspace to create custom decorated sugar cookies for my clients. Duane built a home office for us in our family room and we love it! Right from the start it was easy to work with Duane. He communicates clearly. He listened to our wishes and provided additional suggestions that improved the project, which we appreciated. He sticks to his word. The quality of his workmanship is extraordinary. Duane built a beautiful buffet for my dining room. It is the nicest piece of furniture in my house. I will get more furniture built by him!

Duane did a great job building a hutch/desk for us. He listened carefully to what we wanted; and, was not annoyed when I asked him to make changes. Duane's love of wood and craftsmanship has kept him in my sights for many years. First with small projects, ultimately with one I'd leaned toward for more than a decade: a complete kitchen and master bath renovation. Duane built and installed all new cabinets in my kitchen and master bathroom and I couldn't be happier with his work. He loves wood like people love chocolate! He built us a beautiful custom cabinet made of hickory for our master bath. If I ever move, I'm taking this cabinet with me. For our kitchen he built and installed beautiful white shaker-style cabinets and a gorgeous island and coffee bar. As we dived into our project, I changed my mind a few times about certain things and he was always up for the challenge. I highly recommend Duane!

Quality and craftsmanship! I am SO happy with the kitchen remodel that Duane did for my townhouse kitchen. He is a true professional with attention to detail! The existing kitchen had old, oak cabinets and a very "busy" backsplash and old countertops. The cabinets were repainted and Duane custom made the new shaker style cabinet doors, crown molding and peninsula cabinet for the center island/tabletop. He handled my project in a very timely manner with outstanding communication to assure my expectations were met. I HIGHLY recommend him for any of your remodeling needs!
