Lauren Grumbles Design

Lauren is absolutely amazing. I sought her services for a kitchen and primary bath renovation after I got completely in over my head with doubt on my selections matching my intended design style. I had an organic modern idea in mind, but like most, started second guessing everything from mixing metal colors, grout, paint… everything! I knew I needed a professional, and Lauren was just that. She listened to my ideas and concerns and helped me make more appropriate selections that, while nearly identical to what I had in mind, would go together better based on undertones, etc. It was amazing to see that subtle changes can make everything come together so perfectly. I highly suggest Lauren and will definitely be a repeat customer.

When my husband and I purchased property outside of Brenham, we knew that we needed an interior designer that could handle a multi-stage project consisting of remodeling an existing home, and new construction of a guest house. We were referred to Lauren Grumbles through a mutual friend, and from our first phone call it was obvious that she was exactly who we were looking for. She impressed us with her knowledge of the steps that needed to be taken at the the onset of a project and her dedication to timelines. At our first meeting, Lauren helped us to solidify what we hoped to accomplish on the house, and quickly introduced us to several construction companies and architects in order to receive quotes. Her connections in this industry helped us to assemble what we refer to as "The Dream Team". Lauren worked seamlessly with the others on the team, consisting of our architect and construction company. She gave valuable insight into floorplans, different building materials, and even drew up the electrical plans for the home to present to the architect. Her patience and reassurance meant a great deal to my husband and I, as the scope of the job seemed at times to be overwhelming. Lauren presented us with options, and allowed us the time to ponder different scenarios before gently nudging us back on track. Lauren helped us to develop a palette of colors for our home, and I am amazed at how seamlessly one room flows to the other, without having each room look like a cookie cutter of another. I honestly believe that if we had tackled this project alone, we would still be waiting on furniture, as neither my husband nor I had any real knowledge of just how long it could take to order and receive furnishings, appliances, and such. Luckily, Lauren did, and her timelines given in baby steps allowed us to have a seamless move in. Just as valuable as her knowledge of design is her relationship with vendors related to home building. Lauren works with companies that specialize in every aspect of construction (flooring, draperies, hardware, etc.) and those relationships, and the work done behind the scenes, made our job so much easier. Of the thousands of decisions that we made over the course of this project, we both maintain that hiring Lauren Grumbles was the best of them.

I appreciate how Lauren took the time to understand how we wanted to use our space, what we were willing to spend and then apply her skills to bring us a number of options that would meet our expectations. I found Lauren to be extremely professional, an excellent communicator and very patient throughout our home remodel process. Lauren is also incredibly talented and brought many design ideas that we have the pleasure of enjoying for years to come.

When we purchased our older 1930’s home last summer, I knew I couldn’t do it any justice to decorate the home on our own. When I began my journey to build a new home, my builder recommended that I meet with a designer as we started the project. He introduced me to Lauren Grumbles and from the start, I felt like I was in very capable hands. Lauren spent time with me to understand my likes and dislikes and helped me choose options to match the theme of my home. I wanted to add something from my previous home and she helped me find an amazing option to bring a beautiful feature into the design. She understood my comfort level and never overwhelmed me with choices. I was able to pick items from a short list that all were terrific options and I knew they would look perfect in my home. Lauren is excellent at what she does. She is very detailed, and has such a unique eye for design. She put together the most welcoming, beautiful spaces for us, that I could have never done on my own, yet it feels just like my style. Using her was the best decision when we upgraded houses and had more space to fill. She really took this from a house, to a home with her design ideas. I highly recommend using Lauren. Back in July of 2019, when I started a complete restoration of my childhood, craftsman style bungalow, my builder, Jason Penberthy, with Mission Custom Homes, suggested I spend a little time with a designer. At first, I was opposed to using anyone, I felt as though I knew what I liked and after all, how hard could it be to choose colors? One trip on my own to the tile and granite showroom and I was totally overwhelmed. I was put in touch with Lauren Grumbles, a real godsend! She listened patiently while we visited showrooms and was able to help guide me in the direction of finding the perfect combination of colors and textures to make the selections visually appealing. At times I remember feeling so indecisive and insecure of my decisions, Lauren assured me she was with me every step of the way and wouldn't let me make a bad choice. She would do the hard work of looking at all of the samples, narrowing the selections to three and then I would choose one. It also helped knowing I could pick any of the three and the choice would look great! Did I mention Lauren is a perfectionist? In her quiet way, she makes sure whatever project she is involved with, the results will be top notch. Working with Lauren was a dream. She is professional, efficient, honest and follows though with any promises she makes. Lauren worked with my price point and was consistently aware of not breaking the bank. I look back on the first few weeks of this journey and wonder what I would have done without Lauren? She is so talented and has a special gift for design. I was blessed and lucky to have her as my designer!

This review is LONG overdue! If I could give Lauren 10 stars on this review I would. I initially reached out to Lauren with a smaller project but just happened to mention to her my desire to redo my entire living room and a few other living spaces on the first floor of my home. Together, we came up with a plan that met our budget to do exactly that. Lauren is a fantastic communicator and even more importantly, a great listener. As I tried to explain what I wanted and the "feel" I was going for, she transformed those ideas into reality. I could not be happier with how our home turned out and have received so many compliments from friends and family. This won't be the last time I use Lauren!!

Lauren is amazingly talented and creative. Her design aesthetic is on-trend and she took the time to really understand our vision. She’s the real deal and her communication was incredible throughout the entire process. We can’t wait to work with her again in the future.
