I have worked with Ryan on multiple projects over the years all with great success. First on remodels and more recently on a home design from the ground up for a home that bridges the gap between modern and southwestern. Ryan has great design ideas that I would of never of thought of on my own. He is very passionate about design and is able to listen well to his clients needs. My husband and I feel very lucky to own a Mark Singer designed home in Laguna Beach, California. Our home was built in 1990 and we purchased it in 2004. In 2006, we contacted Mark Singer's office as we were interested in doing some exterior renovations. Mark referred us to his son, Ryan, who also is a designer. We contacted Ryan in 2006 and have been happy to know him for 10 years now! Ryan has been wonderful to work with. We started the design process with him in 2006. Ryan is thoughtful and never rushes the design process. He provided us with excellent design ideas and was open to our suggestions and ideas as well. We always appreciated that about working with Ryan. He provided us with computer renderings as we explored various ideas. In 2008, we had to put our project on hold for several years due to a challenging economy and some family situations. We found Ryan to be patient and understanding thru all of that. We re-engaged Ryan in 2012 to resume the design process on our exterior renovations. Some of our project ideas has changed in those years, and Ryan was always there to suggest appropriate modifications to the design and materials. Ryan was awesome at being there for us every step of the way in getting the design review approval in Laguna Beach--from creating the plans to contacting the listing service letter to organizing the neighborhood meeting to attending the design review hearing. He was great! We were so delighted when we received approval on the project in January 2014!! We had a newborn baby at the time and were not ready to begin construction. We re-engaged Ryan at the end of 2015 as we needed to get an extension on our design review approval. Ryan was there for us again like he always had been. We received the extension and then Ryan created the structural plans for the project in early 2016. We were again very happy when he worked with us thru that process, and those plans were approved in May. Construction began in June 2016, and Ryan has visited the site several times to provide more design input, answer questions of the general contractor, and provide more plans as needed in the process. Ryan is a very talented designer. He is patient, responsive and open to his clients' ideas and wishes. Ryan has impressive experience in all aspects of the process--from the design to submittal to approval process. And he will be there for you during construction... Invaluable! I am fortunate to live in a house designed by Ryan Singer. It was love at first sight. He was able to present pure modern with warmth of wood, stone and sunlight. Modern and Organic. His creations are planned and intentional with detailed styling. He is very down to earth and wonderful to work with. If I have an opportunity to build another house, I would ask him to be the architect and interior design. l

We loved working with Ryan. His ability to take our vision and carry it out created a beautiful design in our home. I would highly recommend working with Ryan.

Honestly, we were on the fence about hiring an architect. You watch enough HGTV and DIY shows, and you think you have it all figured out...especially when you're talking about a "simple" and "small" project like building out a small bedroom and adding a shower to an existing bathroom. Thankfully, some good senses kicked in, and we hired Ryan, because it has turned out to be one of the best decisions we have made on this project. We know Ryan usually deals with much larger scale (and upscale) projects, but not once did he make us feel like our project was "too small". In fact, he was incredibly responsive (by email, text, phone), and very quick to turn around design ideas. He held our hands throughout the whole process of getting everything permitted with the city. Without a doubt, he saved us from making some incredibly costly mistakes. To boot, he's very down-to-earth and easy to work with. Did I already mention he's incredibly responsive? Because it's worth mentioning again. When you're going back and forth on design ideas and options, and all the crazy concerns you have as a homeowner, you want someone who's going to respond right away. We would absolutely hire Ryan again in a heartbeat for our next project.

Ryan truly understands the idea and importance of space and exercises restraint when designing....This is not always easy to do, because it requires perfection in juxtaposition and materials. I have collaborated with Ryan on a few projects and he was such a joy to work with. His talent and enthusiasm is so inspiring!
