Residential and Commercial Architects based in Sonoma County since 1988. ADR | Architectural Design & Restoration, Inc. was established in 1988 in the historic Sonoma County town of Petaluma, CA by licensed architects, Rick Brereton and Charles "Church" Hildreth. The architects boast diverse backgrounds and a broad range of experience. Their eclectic portfolio ranges from modest home remodels to multi-million dollar hotels and restaurants across the country. ADR has strived to establish good working relationships with local developers, builders and craftspeople. Words like "classy" and "reliable" and "steadfast" and of course "brilliant" popped into my mind when I was asked my thoughts about Church Hildreth and Sasha Butler and their truly amazing professionalism and incredible work for me. But what really stands out is their calm patience, the clarity with which they communicate, the way they are able to cause emotional storms in the building process (and those will always occur in a building process) to blow over like Jedi knights with the wave of a hand and a wise and lucid explanation. However...to give them only five stars would be unfair--an insult, actually. For, in fact, all of the stars belong to them.

We retained ADR to design major additions to our home and worked with Rick and Sasha. In addition to creating a beautiful and energy efficient design, they provided routine updates on the status of the project. They assisted us with choosing design options and helped us identify key contractors, building specialists and other vendors. Both Rick and Sasha have excellent experience, and are very professional, and great to work with.

I have known the folks at ADR for some time now and seen their work, both on paper and on-site. I finally got a project with one of their clients and after dealing with Church on various issues I was impressed with the knowledge, professionalism and personal service I received during the project.

Church Hildreth and ADR were recommended to me at the time we bought our home in Sonoma County, in much need of renovation/repair. Church and Sasha worked with us painstakingly to transform our eyesore of a fixer into a home that impresses neighbors and friends and, most importantly, is a dream home for us. Their vision was perfect for the site. They have created and updated our Master Plan, being patient with our timeline and feedback. Communication with the firm is excellent. Church has made multiple site visits, as requested. Overall, working with ADR has been one of the best parts of undertaking an otherwise arduous custom home renovation. I couldn't recommend them more enthusiastically.

From the original design and construction through two subsequent remodels, ADR has been wonderful to work with. Their designs are inspired and creative, while never losing sight of what is practical. They incorporate our taste (and elevate it!) rather than imposing theirs on us. Due to their ingenuity we have not only realized far more pleasure and use from our property than we had anticipated, but will be able to remain in our home much longer, as well. Highly recommended. And they are very nice people, too!

Great ideas from Rick who thoroughly examined our home to get actual dimensions and conditions.. Amazing response time and working knowledge of the city permit/planning processes. His office assistant, Sasha, provided a seamless communication link between all parties. Very willing to work with contractor in the heart of the remodel.

Worked with ADR on custom residential design and construction services project. Very Builder/Construction friendly to work with. Open to value engineering ideas and simplifying details when possible. Easy to communicate and work with. Very prompt responses to RFI's, etc. to keep things moving.

We have worked with ADR on many projects large and small. They have a keen sense of design and are very good at presenting the client a plan of exactly what the client is after. They are courteous and put together a package in a timely manner. There work is thorough and usually gets through and building department on the first try. They at the top of our list of Architects that we recommend.
