I worked with Karen on my kitchen renovation in Sept/Oct 2023, she is fantastic, would not hesitate to recommend you work with her. She has great design skills and a real expertise in what worked best for my budget and configuration. More importantly, Karen is a great communicator, she was patient with my questions, gave clear directions to the contractor and kept the timeline moving forward with the cabinet vendors. She didn't just put together a cabinet design, she helped us pick out every thing we had to purchase, from the cabinets to the hardware to the appliances to the light fixtures. Everything. And she helped to coordinate contractors, stay on them when busy schedules pulled them away, and did whatever it took to get the job done. Best part is Karen is someone you WANT to work with. I would give Karen 6 stars if it let me! Karen is worth her weight in gold and then some! Hiring her was by far the best decision in our remodel process. From the first phone call, it was clear that she valued our opinions, desires and input and this held true throughout the entire project. She gave us several layout options to chose from, each drastically improving the efficiency and flow of the floor plan. Karen guided us through the selection of all materials and appliances, and passed on her discount whenever possible. Simply narrowing down the countless options was worthwhile as it can be overwhelming. She respected our values and budget, frequently offering creative and cost effective solutions while holding true to our vision. Her patience was exemplary as we decided to hit 'pause' before breaking ground due to the pandemic, and then didn't skip a beat when we were ready to resume. Karen truly understands every trade and helped to project manage the contractors, frequently communicating directly with them or coming on site to troubleshoot. She is intimately aware of the unique challenges the older houses in the Boston area can create. Best of all, her energy lights up a room and she is a delight to be around, which is greatly appreciated during a high-stress remodel. Where do I begin? Working with Karen was wonderful. Her design ideas are creative and clever, but she always kept practicality and our budget in mind. For example, she steered us away from an expensive tall cabinet suggested by the architect in favor of a more practical--and much cheaper--solution that met our needs perfectly. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of products and materials, and she understands the trades and the construction process really well. For us, that was key--she helped us anticipate possible pitfalls and ask the right questions of our contractor at key points along the way. The icing on the cake is her warm demeanor and sense of humor. It's clear that she loves what she does and cares about her clients. If I had more kitchens and bathrooms (!) I would work with her again in a heartbeat!

We are renovating two bathrooms and a kitchen without a general contractor. Karen made a design plan with step-by-step instructions. The detail of each design is amazing. Each one is customized to our specific needs and wants. Her knowledge is unsurpassed. There is no way we could be doing this without her. She is a Godsend.

My wife and I worked with Karen Walson on two different projects. A full bathroom redesign and a full kitchen redesign. In both instances she was extremely helpful in showing us best use of our spaces. We live in an old 100 year old colonial and didn’t want to make any structural modifications but needed to maximize use of the space we had. Karen was critical in helping us vision the new bathroom and kitchen. She helped us pick cabinets and countertops and tiles to fit our budget. She was instrumental in guiding us through decision making, which can be very stressful. She told us where we could save money and recommended when we should spend some extra money for that little extra touch. Both projects came out beautifully. We would highly recommend Karen.

Karen Walson is the reason my project came to a successful conclusion. In the beginning I was completely overwhelmed by the choices and decisions that needed to be made. With my budget and style preferences in mind, Karen guided me step by step through the process. She was readily available with thoughtful advice and recommendations. She promptly responded to all my questions by phone, text or email. Her professional expertise always instilled me with confidence. Karen ultimately proved herself most invaluable when mid project it became apparent I had to replace my contractor. My kitchen was in chaos and so was I. Karen immediately stepped up and assured me she could connect me with the right people to finish the job successfully. She introduced me to craftsmen who could step in and correct what needed fixing and then finish the job in the professional manner I had expected when the project began. Karen stayed in touch with me throughout the transition providing reassurance when I needed it most. I truly don't know what I would have done without her.

I am SO glad that we made the decision to work with Karen! We decided to redo our kitchen in anticipation of the birth of our first child, so we had a hard deadline and a lot to accomplish in a short period of time. Karen helped us think through our needs for the kitchen (storage, functionality, considerations to take into account for a baby) and also helped us pick materials that made it look absolutely gorgeous! She also helped us manage the process from beginning to end - she put together a fabulous binder of instructions and plans for our contractor, gave us guidance around working with our contractor and helped us keep things on track, helped us manage all the ordering and delivery of materials, etc. There were periods of time where we were out of town while the major construction was happening (so that I could avoid dust, fumes, etc. while expecting) and we could always count on her to be at the house as our proxy on key construction days. Overall, she was extremely communicative, proactive, and knowledgeable. She was a pleasure to work with and gave us such peace of mind. I would highly recommend working with Karen!

Karen was phenomenal! Her expertise and recommendations were essential to the success of our beautiful kitchen remodel. There are a lot of details that you need to plan for in a remodel, and she made sure we kept track of everything that needed to be done. We ended up using the contractors she recommended as well and they were excellent as well. I truly have my dream kitchen now. I would work with Karen again in a heartbeat.
