Eric Shephard Architects

We consulted with Eric Shepard for the first time 10 years ago about redesigning our open staircase but ended up putting that project on hold. 10 years later, we decided to completely remodel our home inside and out. We called Eric again and hired him as our architect. Eric was easy to work with, very professional and brought our vision to life along with a few ideas we didn't think were possible. Now that our project is complete, we are ecstatic with the final results. If we ever need another architect, Eric Sheppard will be the only call we make.

It was a pleasure working with Eric! Eric helped us transform our dated 3-bedroom 1 bath home into a modern, spacious 4-bedroom 2 bath home that I love. He helped us through the entire process; sitting down and discussing what we wanted, designing each room, and adding lots of open space. We vaulted the ceilings throughout the house and opened up the interior by adding a great room to the kitchen. The home feels so welcoming and much more to my style. It's new, contemporary, and full of natural light. He also guided us through the city/county permit process. When we encountered an issue with the city, he was quick to jump in and provide support. He listened to what I wanted and produced the final product. I'm so happy with the final product. We now have space for family when they visit, and they love the new look; open space and warm feel of the house.

Eric Shephard Architects were based on referrals from other homeowners in the neighborhood, of which we loved the unique style and attention to details, and hence asked who your architect was. We engaged with Eric and worked on multiple ideas and revisions until we found the best solution for our major home remodel. He was absolutely patient with us and our ever changing ideas. Most impressive was how quickly and right in front of us, he was able to makes changes based on our ideas and put it into new plot layouts. Quit honestly we really enjoyed this process very much. At the end we were able to align on a path that met our architectural needs as well as fit our budget. Eric's work is very detailed, hence if you are like us that cares about quality - you are required to pay a fair price. Eric supported us with the selection of a high quality General Contractor to actually execute the project per plans. He personally remained involved and verified all design aspects during the construction phase. We were able to continue to work with him and make minor changes that further improved our living spaces. Upon completion, Eric brought in a professional photographer to take pictures of the new home. Many of our friends, as well as new clients of Eric Shephard Architects are now able to get design ideas. These pictures are posted here on houzz. We met with several architects as we looked to add a second story to our house. Eric had very good vision/creativity and was easy and patient to work with us as we tried to figure out what we wanted. He was also on time with our project and managed our expectations well. I would definitely use him again! Thanks Eric!

Eric and his team were great at explaining their vision and thoughts regarding my remodel. Very attentive and professional. Eric took his time looking at all aspects of the structure and really diving into the details. The turnaround time for the drawings and engineering was quick and helped me stay on schedule.

Eric was great to work with, he's extremely pleasant and is able to take your general ideas and make them concrete. He honored our requests and style, was patient with our changes (some major), and also added touches that made a huge difference in the personality of our place. We're extremely happy with the results and get a lot of compliments. He also helped facilitate the permit process so it progressed smoothly and in a timely manner.

We hired Eric to design a custom home in Pleasanton, CA. Eric is very courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. We had some ideas on what we wanted in our house. He took that input and translated that into a design for a Tuscan farmhouse that was approved by the Architectural review committee as well as the city and we love it the way it turned out. He has that ability to understand the client's needs and translate it into an excellent design. He was very patient during the review process and worked closely with the builder. He made the whole process easy for us.

Eric Shephard really know's how to corral your ideas and put pen to paper. We worked with Eric to come up with a new exterior remodel, entryway, and all new patios for our ranch style home. We worked with him to create a detailed craftsman look. Starting with a few pictures we found on Houzz, he was really easy to work with over the course of a few meetings to hone in our ideas. The process is quite painless with Eric and we were impressed with both the great ideas he would propose and the progress he would make in between meetings. It was a great surprise each time we would meet because we knew Eric would have something nice to review. No complaints!

I, as a contractor appreciate working with an architect like Eric Shephard very much, because of his attention to detail and project layout in a set of plans that make a project go smoothly. He also has an eye for creating wonderful/functional living spaces. He listens to you and your vision and is just very easy to work with.

Eric Shepard was wonderful to work with when we decided to remodel our home. He listened to our ideas and items we wanted to have in our remodel. He was very detailed and his plans were very solid.
