I met Dawn and Theo at the San Francisco seismic retrofit fair. You see, I own a unit in a 5-unit building here in San Francisco, and we are almost-but-not-quite exempt from the City's new mandatory seismic upgrade program. Lucky for you, I can articulate exactly what it was that implored me to call and schedule Dawn and Theo the moment I left the fair: sketches. When I described my property, Dawn pulled up some satellite imagery, sketched a masterful image of the seismic situation as I blurbed out annotations. It turned out that some 2005 work that we had had done on the building was sufficient to bring us into compliance with the rules. They handled everything promptly for a very reasonable price. ...so, of course when my wife and I were wrestling with an appropriate scope for a kitchen-bathroom-laundry-porch project, we did not hesitate to involve Dawn and Theo again. They came over to have a look at the project, and we patiently examined all of the many layers of the onion that is our 1893 uh..victorian? We converged on a a final vision and were very happy with the results.
