Emmett Russell Architects

We have worked along side Emmett Russell Architects on a few projects and would say they would be the best we have worked with for a long time now. They have some amazing ideas and a keen eye for detail. We will be using them in the near future to work on our new house.

We worked with Emmett Russell on an extension to and redesign of the ground floor of our Victorian terraced town house. They listened to our aims and produced three different proposals which we then discussed before selecting a design. From the outset, Vicky was able to articulate her vision for the space, including coming up with the suggestion of turning a staircase round, to get a better view of the garden as you entered the room. However she also listened to what we wanted to achieve and our budget constraints before coming up with a beautiful design which makes full use of all the space, including lots of clever storage ideas and a neat utility area. Vicky helped navigate each stage if the project, from obtaining planning permission to running an auction process to select builders. Once builders were appointed, she built a constructive relationship with them and worked very effectively to ensure the plans were accurately translated, making monthly site visits and being available on phone and email to deal with issues as the arose. She also introduced us to other professionals, namely a joiner and landscape gardener. Vicky's calm, thoughtful and professional approach ensured the project progressed in a timely way while also helping manage the stress associated with major building works. We would happily recommend Emmett Russell as, having lived in the end product for almost a year, we are still delighted with it.

A full ground floor, cellar and garden refurbishment project was beautifully and thoughtfully designed and has given tasteful, practical and light-filled results. The space that has been created and the use of the light in the house has far exceeded our expectations. Vicky, Tom and the whole team were outstanding from the outset. Our lead architect, Rachel, in particular showed prodigious attention to detail in the execution of the project and her diligence, creativity, great style and excellent communication with us made the whole experience collaborative and enjoyable. It has resulted in a house fully reflecting our needs and preferences, but with the addition of many clever designs. Unreservedly recommended.
