etA ARCHITECTURE

I feel compelled to write this review, first time ever, because our experience with Daniel at ETA has been so unprofessional and damaging. We entered into contract with Daniel in early 2020 for nearly a full re-model of our single family home. The scope of work included architectural designs and permits. Initially Daniel was responsive but soon after his communication was spotty and it took several attempts to get a response. By the end of 2021 we were told the final packet had been submitted to the San Francisco planning department and we needed to wait for approval. From the Summer on, we made multiple attempts (email, text, voicemail) to make contact with Daniel for an update on the approval process. In addition, so did our contractor since he needed to gage when the project might start based on other work he had lined up. No response from Daniel. We finally heard from him in October of 2022, no real explanation for his absence and he agreed to pay for an expeditor to help track down the permit. We engaged an expeditor immediately only to learn, they could not help us because there was no permit packet on file with the city. For over a year, Daniel in writing and over the phone led us to believe he had submitted paperwork that he had not. Furthermore, we paid him in full for the services we thought he had completed. Nearly 3 years later, we still have not heard from Daniel, we do not have a permit for our house and will have to spend at least another $60K with a new architect to essentially start the entire process over.

My design firm has worked with Shervin on several projects including our current collaboration on a whole house remodel in Tiburon. We continue to work with him because he not only has high standards for delivering drawings and renderings in a professional and timely manner, but more importantly, he adds to the design conversation. He knows the space is not just about getting all elements on paper, but really thinking about how clients live in their homes. It truly is about form and function, artfully designed.

I am a residential remodeling contractor in San Francisco. My company, Damar, Inc, has worked with etA on numerous projects over the last 4 years ranging in scope from kitchen/ bath remodels to complete home maker-overs. What impresses me most about their designs is there ability to coax spaciousness from what is often a limited space given the dimensions of most homes in San Francisco. Not only do I refer potential clients to etA on a regular basis, but I used them myself to re-design my Bernal Heights home.

I worked with etA on a full home renovation which we completed early last year and was very impressed with the overall experience. Not only was the design work top notch with a real attention to detail, etA was great to work with on a personal level with a very positive attitude. In summary etA were easy to get along with, provided creative and exciting designs, and had timely responses to questions. I'm looking forward to the next project etA and I can work on together.

etA Architecture designed our Sausalito house remodel - and we have been absolutely ecstatic with the results! Shervin and Daniel completely captured everything that we wished for in terms of aesthetics, ambience and functionality, and were a dream to work with. They assisted us in the selection of contractor and provided support throughout the building process. If this sounds "too good to be true", that is exactly how we felt from beginning to end of the project. Thank you Shervin and Daniel for giving us a home to cherish!!

The ETA team handled a major remodel to our fifties architect designed home. Their design retained the original feel of the house, but with updates that made it both more usable and contemporary. They are great at design, know materials, have local contacts, meet deadlines and are sensitive to budgetary constraints. They also developed the conceptual design for a major backyard remodel, a design where it feels like the inside of the house flows outside. We love the results, both inside and out, and receive many compliments on the design. I cannot recommend ETA too highly.

Shervin & Daniel a.k.a. "etA" are truly dream architects! They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, upbeat and user-friendly. etA went above & beyond when they drew up our vision of a modern home which started out Mediterranean. They managed our year-and-a-half remodel of the home my grandparents handed down to us. Whether we were reinforcing the foundation, taking down walls, adding an upper level, letting in light, etA achieved all these objectives and much more by creating a fun, new space which we now call our own home. In the course of our project, our relationship was fortified along with that of our general contractor whom etA had recommended. etA handled the entire project, including permitting, and all the while maintained a conservative budget. We discovered a whole new world of architecture...and, happily, Heath tiles. We both work full time; thus, we had no time to run around and pick out tiles, colors, fixtures; we told etA what we had in mind and they made recommendations which enabled us to skip the run around. etA, our general contractor and we worked as a team. We are all wonderful friends to this day! Thank you, etA!!!

etA designed our Marin County home remodel -- the result was nothing short of miraculous. Our house is quirky and not particularly easy to work with, but etA re-configured our space, working within the existing confines of our home, to create a house where the 5 of us can live more comfortably. The firm came up with ideas for the kids' portion of the home (fun closet spaces, a "command center"/computer desk area centrally located, etc.) that have become the hallmark of our easy existence here. The team worked within our financial constraints, nonetheless designing a clean and current look in the remodeled areas, which blended well with the areas we were not remodeling. Not only are we thrilled with the project's result, but our contractor also reported being wholly impressed with etA's vision, and with the firm's work ethic and cooperative input. We had an excellent experience with etA and would highly recommend the team to anyone considering a residential remodel.

The team of etA has worked on two of my residential renovations and they did a marvelous job for both. I am currently working with them on a commercial office project. Their attention to detail and material chosen is amazing. Their designs are modern, sleek and up to date.

Over the years we have worked with etA ARCHITECTURE as the General Building Contractor on a variety of highly successful construction projects. etA has consistently proven themselves to be highly professional architects, by providing well thought out plans, from foundation through finish, that lends to architecture that is both beautiful in form and highly functional. etA follows this up with dedicated support through out the entire project. I highly recommend etA as a key part of the project team for architectural services.
