I hired Jim from Distinctive Woodwork for several projects in my home including design and manufacture of custom cherry cabinet system for home theater, my library and office space and installation of custom solid cherry doors and trim throughout the house. I first had the pleasure of working with Distinctive Woodwork about 6 1/2 years ago and have hired them again and again for other projects throughout our home every year. Whatever I envisioned for each space, they worked with me sending drawings back and forth until we got it exactly right! Their craftsmanship, precision and attention to detail truly define the term CUSTOM built-ins. Some of the jobs they have built are: wall to ceiling cabinets including a changing table turned child desk in a nursery, another child's bedroom with cabinets, desk, shelving, beadboard and moulding, mudroom cubbies/hooks, etc., a gorgeous practically two-story media unit in the den with coordinating frame above the fireplace and completely overhauled the kitchen changing the color of all the cabinet doors, adding more cabinets made to look they were always there and new pantry doors that are painted on one side with magnetic paint and chalkboard paint on the other! If I could have them do a project in every room of my house I would! Always on time, flexible and professional!

We've used Distinctive woodwork on two occasions. Once for a custom office and another to build a custom bar and cabinetry. On both occasions, Jim and DW were an absolute pleasure to work with.
