I retained Wallace Remodeling to convert the garage of a two-flat apartment building into a third apartment under the City's Auxiliary Dwelling Unit rules. It turned out that the existing two apartments needed renovations as well. The project manager who initiated the work (and was performing well) left the firm mid-way through. Scott Francies and Diane Frediani stepped in capably and saw the project through to a successful conclusion. Scott oversaw the construction side of the job while Diane handled pay applications and other administrative aspects. I recommend them both highly.

As an Architect, I have pretty high standards about the Contractors I work with and I'm pleased to report that Wallace Remodeling is a great organization. Their pricing is accurate, thorough and timely. During construction, their field team didn't hesitate to call us to review details and work out solutions to issues as they arose. I am quite pleased with their level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. Kevin (the company owner) is very knowledgable about local codes and procedures, making him a valuable member of the team even at the early stages. Great people, great process and great result - what more could you ask for?

I am tremendously pleased with the Wallace Remodeling team on the high-quality of work that they’re doing and how easy the team members are to work with. Alex is a terrific project manager, and so helpful and personable. Luis is diligent and always ready with a smile. The carpenters, the stucco guys, and the electricians have all been great to work with. They show up on time; the team members do high-quality work and seem to pride themselves on getting things done right and artfully. When I think that with most construction projects I’ve done in the past, the relationship with the contractor does downhill during the project. We are four months into a six-month project, and I continue to be pleased with the Wallace Remodeling team and subcontractors.

I hired Wallace Remodeling to do a full design and build of my 1BR/1BA/Den condo in Russian Hill. I've bought and sold many condos in my life, but this was my first remodel. I was very nervous going into it, but the team at Wallace walked me through everything and was extraordinarily patient with me. We started by working with their architect on plans for my unit and the changes I planned on making. I had a very clear vision for what I wanted, down to the materials (thank you Houzz for the ideas!) The architects were very helpful in giving me an idea of overall budget for my choices. In the end, we landed on a $120K budget for a full kitchen, bath, den, and flooring remodel. I received two competing bids, one lower and the other higher, so I guessed this was appropriate for my unit. From there, we then got into the build phase and the team at Wallace was exceptional. From the time demolition started in early September to the time the project was finished in mid-November, they were very communicative. They texted, emailed, and FaceTime'd me from the project site. While I work only a few miles from the condo, it's very difficult for me to break away during the day. Wallace worked with me on my schedule and ensured that they were able to communicate with me so I could make quick decisions. The thing that impresses me the most about the project is the attention to detail. Wallace does not skimp on quality. You get the impression that every aspect of the project, down to the cabinet pulls, is a reflection on their work, and they take pride in that. The end result is that they're as invested in the outcome of your project as you are. In the end, Wallace helped me take the vision I had for my condo and made it a reality. Details: Project type: 1 BR/1 BA/Den condo in Russian Hill, San Francisco. Approximately 950 square feet. Replace the entire kitchen, bathroom, and den, as well as all new flooring everywhere. Add modern electrical fixtures and add new lighting and outlets. Replace all appliances. Paint, patch and clean up. Materials used: Armstrong flooring, Porcelanosa and Daltile tile, Bosch and Fisher Paykel appliances, Grohe plumbing fixtures, lighting from Lumens. Budget: Quoted $120K. Actual $140K due to approved changes throughout the project. In effect, Wallace was exactly on budget save for changes I wanted to make once the project started. Budget does not include appliances, which I paid for myself ~$10K) Time: Promised 11/15/2015, delivered 11/11/2015. Wallace was precisely on time. I enthusiastically recommend Wallace and plan on using them for my future projects.

Wallace Remodeling did an amazing job on our 2 unit condo building, and I highly recommend them. Wallace completed a number of projects for us, and they excelled on many fronts: a) Quality b) Clear Communication c) Excellent Customer Service The primary project they led was adding foundation bolting and shearing to our building to help strengthen the building against earthquakes. We compared Wallace to a number of other companies, but Kevin Wallace and his team provided excellent recommendations, a clear plan of attack, and a detailed budget estimate. Just as important, Wallace Remodeling worked really well with our architect, and they assisted with getting the necessary permits. Wallace completed the project on time, and we were very happy. We also enjoyed the workers who were at our residence on a daily basis. Finally, and not to under-sell this point, their work quality is great. That attention to detail is something we were not getting from other contractors we've used in the past. Given our initial satisfaction with Wallace, we also built a plan to add recessed lighting in our condo. Again, they provided excellent advice and great workmanship. You can definitely trust these guys to help you with your remodeling needs.

Wallace Remodeling did two jobs for us from start to finish: Added a bedroom and bathroom to our roof; remodeled our kitchen and downstairs bathroom. From the beginning until the end, Mr. Wallace and his crew were very easy to work with. They respected our bottom lines and gave feedback to our suggestions. Their communication style was clear and ongoing. They were great listeners. They gave their opinions only when asked for. They were always on time and kept the job site clean. The kept to their time frames. Their in house architect, Ron, was smart, creative, and never condescending. I have recommended them to my friends and would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Kevin Wallace and company helped me convert a very nice in-law apartment back into the main house as a master bedroom suite. The City was forcing me to eliminate this affordable housing unit. Wallace was also helping me to legalize a number of improvements which had been done over the years, but were not properly permitted. The goal was to have a home ready for sale with no issues, or as few as possible. They did a great job dealing with the City and dealing with my cranky mood during this process. I do recommend them for remodeling projects.

Wallace remodeling offers great customer service and value for any remodel. We had our bathroom remodeled during the summer and are very satisfied with the results. They were flexible during the process and found ways to save us money as well. I would recommend them highly for any new build or remodel job.

I worked with Wallace Remodeling on a master bath, powder room and kitchen remodel. I reviewed the plans provided by Wallace Remodeling with my client and then provided the client with material and color selections for the three different spaces. Wallace remodeling did a great job providing clear and accurate drawings for myself and the client to work from. They did their scope of work in a timely manner.
