Hatchett Design/Remodel

Completely professional from start to finish. Everything was perfect until the painting, but when I requested a return, someone was sent out the next morning to add a second coat. I couldn't be happier with my bedroom remodel, which included an added window. Even the outside brickwork is perfect.

We used Hatchett Design and Remodel for a kitchen remodel. Our house is over 70 years old and no previous projects were without surprises. Kent, our project manager, managed the surprises so that they never became a problem. We were provided a project timeline and were very pleased with how the accurate the timeline proved to be. We were very happy with the design process. Christy, our designer, provided wonderful suggestions and kept us from being overwhelmed with the choices that a kitchen remodel present. The subcontractors used were very good and Larry Bitterling, the flooring contractor, is without equal! It was such a job well done that it is the talk of the neighborhood.

Hatchett's team was a joy to work with. From the moment they first set foot in my house they were total professionals and put my wife and I at ease. We had two and a half baths that had received no extensive work since the house was constructed. We had a complete rip out of vinyl flooring, worn out tub shower enclosures and wall papered walls, and installed all new vanities, appliances, one bath with a tub and the other with a walk in shower, with stone flooring. They were able to translate our less than knowledgeable desires into exactly what we wanted. We were able to review samples in their show room and prior to any work we could see a professional rendition of what our baths were to look like. As a result there were no mid project changes or cost over-runs. The project manager kept me appraised of progress several times a day throughout the project. He managed work to minimize disruption to our daily lives as much as possible and ensured a great cleanup at the end of each day. I knew what to expect every day I came home and most importantly had answers for my wife's hundred and one questions. Hatchett is going to get first shot and any future projects I do and I would probably pay them a little more just for the confidence factor. I would recommend them without hesitation.

We entered this bath remodeling project with a bit of trepidation since 7 years ago we had done a bath remodel with less than satisfactory outcomes. Very early in the process with Hatchet we felt reassured that this time the results would be different. They were organized and customer friendly. A project manager was assigned so that there was one individual to be held accountable for the project's success and for communication. Daily communication with the project manager was guaranteed and, in fact, occurred. We knew exactly what was to take place each day of the 6 weeks project. Answers to questions were provided without hesitation. The two key factors in the success of our bath remodel was communication and planning. The project was started on time and fixtures were ordered ahead and arrived in time to keep the project moving. We can't say enough about the professionalism of Hatchet Design and Remodel. They are highly professional and it was a pleasure doing business with them.

Hatchett Design/Remodel remodeled by kitchen. All new cabinets, new appliances except fridge, new backsplash, countertop, lighting and electrical wiring, plumbing. They were very professional, very organized and did what they said they would do; i.e., a quality first rate installation. Great customer service and response so all my questions and concerns. They did a fabulous job, and I enjoyed working with my general contractor, Dennis, who did the most work. My kitchen is so beautiful, and I cannot believe this is my same house after being here 26 years. They stand behind their well-earned good reputation.

Remodel of two bathrooms of moderate size. The planners, and job workers were professional and each job took about 5 weeks. Callback to cleanup minor discrepancies at the one year mark were done without question. In particular, the tile work was expertly done as was the designers. I would and did recommend this company to others.

From beginning to end our master bedroom bath remodeling project was handled professionally, on time, within budget and with great care and minimum disruption to our home. Each individual who worked in our home was courteous, experienced and left the site immaculate at the end of the day. More importantly, the entire project was overseen by a Hatchett representative who orchestrated the timing, the work performed by various tradesmen, and kept us informed of the project as it progressed. The entire process was seamless and flawless. We were also impressed and grateful that we were contacted by Hatchett some time after the completion of our remodeling job to ensure that we were completely satisfied and that everything was working properly. There is no doubt that if we have another remodeling project in the future we would, without hesitation, invite Hatchett into our home.

After 5 remodel projects, I confidently recommend Hatchett. There up-front planning prevents surprises in the end and allows staying within original contracted amount. Designer's imagination create a final result beyond the norm while focusing on bringing the appropriate value features for wise expenses. There construction team stays in close communication with the homeowner, are craftsmen, are creative in turning ideas into reality, are thorough, and keep cleanliness throughout.

Hatchett Design is a first class remodeler. We had originally had them renovate our 2 1/2 bathrooms and were so pleased we had them redo our kitchen and family rooms . Their work was outstanding in all respects. They met with us several times before, during and after the projects. They continue to followup with us even to this day. Their designer, project manager and staff made the process enjoyable. They were respectful of our budget and work was always completed on time.

I contracted with Hatchett Design/Remodel to turn a small office area into a bedroom with a full bathroom/shower. Michael Hatchett clearly explained the process and warranties to first include non-architectural drawings, materials to be used, and patiently listened while articulating all answers to all concerns, including those most asked by other customers that did not occur to me at the time. After agreeing to move forward, I was introduced to the entire team from the room designer, to the production manager, to the materials scheduler, and was then explained that for certain work, licensed subcontractors where to be used. I met each contractor who stated that they have worked for Hatchett for many years and assured me of their commitment to the highest construction standards. Each contractors' work was daily inspected by the Production Manager and all areas checked for cleanliness. Only the highest quality products were used: Sherwin Williams paint, Kohler bathroom fixtures, and even specialized lighting was ordered for the bath so as not to cast shadows. The tile work was superior and the shower entry doors were custom designed to "make sense" in such a small bath containment. The room itself required a closet that allowed entry into a walk-in attic. This closet was made onsite redesigned from the initial plans with my permission to maximize space yet conceal a functional but secured storage area. Hatchett Design proved to be professional in their demeanor, well experienced to do more than expected, impeccable in their customer service contact and satisfaction, and all within an affordable budget. The quality of work that I received, certainly exceeded what I thought I would have to pay. It became clear that they "would never compromise their work standards or business ethics" which was often repeated by the different work crews. I did not gather any other estimates because this family business is well known to be fair in work and pricing, has been used before by me in 1976, and the sales presentation exuded honesty, integrity, and academic building knowledge. The production Manager Doug Soule is a man of action and has demonstrated his skill sets in many different ways on the job. I can go on and on; but recommend this team without any reservation.

Hatchett remodeled the master bathroom in our historic home. Michael and everyone we worked with were ultimate professionals from the very beginning. The bathroom needed to be completely gutted due to aging pipes, etc, however the antique bathtub needed to stay! Every fixture was replaced, the floor was re-tiled, and a new shower fixture was put in. Michael was always very prompt to notify me of any problems, budget changes, or other issues. In addition, they responded to questions, issues or problems immediately. They are a little more expensive than other contractors, but the customer service and peace of mind from knowing that the job is being done properly is completely worth it.

Had a sunroom renovated into a bedroom/bath in 2005. Looks beautiful. The only problem and it was a major one, was that they hooked the sewage directly into my septic distribution box instead of the holding tank. This caused my leach field to fail in 2014. Turns out that they never obtained a permit to install the sewer line or the illegal grinder pump they installed. At first they said they would make it right, then they refused to take responsibility because they said they had a legal building permit. I had to pay for all the repairs, remove they grinder pump and then install a legal sewer line. I guess I have to file suit now.
