In February 2011 I worked closely with Wayne on a high end SFR 2 story ocean view project he was building in San Clemente, Brett Karger was the GC. I worked with Granite Construction Inspections charged with completing the lenders progress draws % of completion inspections. I found Wayne Collins to be most professional, informative and always present to escort me around the site. His attention to very complicated design detail was superior. His progress was always timely and in budget, the site always clean and free of clutter. My association with him was an excellent experience and made my job over several months stress free. I've known and worked with Wayne Collins professionally for over 30 years-- first in building his designs of high-end custom homes for the development company I was working at the time, then in building out many of his custom home designs as a custom home builder for clients throughout Orange County as well as a 72 unit apartment complex for students in Riverside-- with one of the recent homes being an 11,000 SF custom home on the Redlands Country Club Golf Course featuring a subterranean bowling alley and a 12 person movie theater. Wayne's creative talent is unique in that he has the ability to draw out a client's desires and express them in a completely artful form that is original to the client's personality, needs and budget. As one can see from his designs, his work has a sculptural quality to it-- which is how I view his work. He is a sculptor of spaces using light, glass, texture, space and mass as his clay. Every aspect of his creation is thought out to the smallest detail whether is be a large custom home mansion of a more moderate tract production home design.
