I can only say that I appreciated how Karen worked with me. I moved into a condo, smaller than the one I sold. Karen helped me create a entirely new home. I am pretty eccentric and have unusual art, and Karen took the time and the thoughtfulness to work with what was meaningful to me and create a style around my important pieces. In addition, I found that the cost was so well spent since I would have bought inappropriate pieces and the place would have looked pretty awful. After using other designers, Karen is the person I keep returning to when I need help.

I have hired Arbutus Interiors a number of times and have always been impressed by the work. Karen did a spectacular job of renovating our suite after a flood. She transformed a tired space into a stunningly beautiful home. I look forward to working with her on our next project.

Karen Shaw of Arbutus Interiors has designed and decorated two of my homes. In my opinion, she is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced design professionals that I have had the opportunity to work with. One of her greatest strengths in my opinion, is her ability to suggest and discuss ideas, and yet allow her clients to have the final say. She is very budget conscious , knowing exactly where the monies should or should not be spent. Her knowledge and experience in the design business , her ability to source materials and people to aid in various projects ,contributes to a very pleasant and fun working environment. Karen Shaw continues to do an outstanding job for us in the ongoing interior design of our Whistler vacation home. This is a very modern house design and will be a Passive Certified home on Alta Lake in Whistler BC. She has been working closely with our architect to co-ordinate room sizing and layout and insuring a really comfortable weekend home. Karen has done many previous projects with us both on our family home, our business properties and many of our friends and relatives. She recently completely redesigned and decorated our sons townhouse and he is so happy with the results that he proudly shows off his place to everyone. We can honestly say Karen is a real professional who has really great taste and will always look out to get us the best deal and treats spending our money like its hers.
