Ascaya, Inc. is privately held by the Hong Kong-based family of Dr. Henry Cheng, a diversified infrastructure, construction and property developer, with extensive development projects in Asia, Europe and the Americas. The group acquired the Henderson, Nevada property more than two decades ago. Since Ascaya was first conceived, the group has drawn on the most talented planning, civil engineering, construction, and architectural professionals in the United States. The group pursued a 5-year development plan, investing over $200 million in civil engineering, earthwork, architectural and infrastructure works. The Cheng family controls New World Development Company Limited, a component stock in the Hang Seng Index, which is one of the largest property developers in Hong Kong, China and Southeast Asia. New World Development has 27 major projects in Hong Kong comprising more than16 million square feet, as well as 36 large developments in 22 locations in Mainland China by the group’s affiliate, New World China Land Limited. The Cheng group is currently developing Greenwich Peninsula in London, a major mixed-use community directly across the River Thames from Canary Wharf, which will include 10,000 new homes in one of the largest development projects in Europe. The group previously completed development of The Knightsbridge ultra-luxury apartments in London. In addition, the group has developed or owned some of the most prestigious luxury properties around the globe, including The Beverly Wilshire, a Four Seasons Hotel, in Beverly Hills, the Four Seasons New York, and the former Regent Hotel Hong Kong. A group affiliate owns Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, with approximately 20 ultra-luxury hotels around the world, and owns several iconic properties, such as The Carlyle in New York City, the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas, Rosewood London Hotel, and Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands.
