The Sustainable 9 design + build process is very collaborative. The initial assessment and intake process ensures that the dream home that lives in your head can find its way onto architectural renderings. Their partners (from vendors, suppliers, architects, and sub-contractors) are professional and best in class, which helps to avoid common building pain points. Lastly, their project management and design team are engaged, helpful, and wonderful to work with.

Sustainable 9 started our process by responding to our inquiry within 30 minutes of leaving a message. Chad, one of the owners was expressly flexible with us to show their new build. We met him that week. We new we didn’t want to live in that town but we fell in love with his knowledge, sustainability and esthetic. We schedule meetings to look for land. His communication was fantastic; Chad listened to what we were looking for and showed us the properties that fit out criteria. He had one last property that was well over our budget but felt we needed to see it before we made our final decision. He nailed it and we couldn’t turn it down. We had Unfold Architect design our home overlooking Minneapolis and Bde Maka Ska. And the dream team PM and designer take their designs and bring them to life and add all the final touches to make it a true custom home and exceed our expectations. Our designer fully decorated and furnished our home. It was like we were on an HGTV show at the grand unveiling. She moved us to tears. She nailed our taste but brought it up multiple levels. Our PM kept a tight ship and expected nothing but perfection from his subcontractors. We would go over there to check on progress and If we saw something we would email him and he would show us and invoice that he had already had a work order for it be be fixed. If you are looking for a boutique, custom builder that will make u feel like family when the process is over Sustainable 9 is truly the only builder to go with, we built during the pandemic, so prices were high, labor was in demand, but somehow the 2 year process made it seem to build relationships more. I won’t say I didn’t ask to PM monthly what is our eta!

The team at S9 made our dream home a reality! Our home turned out better than we ever imagined. They love what they do and want it to turn out perfect. From the beginning, they collaborated with us on our vision and helped guide us through the design process. They had a high attention to detail and were truly looking out for our best interests. They were also great communicators and completed our project on time. We would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to build their dream home or remodel!
