In 2010 we moved into our "new" home on American Lake in Lakewood, WA. We purchased a full set of kitchen appliances (range, hood, refer, dishwasher, built-in microwave. Then we needed someone to remodel our kitchen around those appliances. Sweatman-Young was recommended. With change orders, perfectly supported, documented, and priced, we wound up with a new kitchen, two bathrooms, a five foot extension to a bedroom wing, a new utility room which had been a breezeway between the kitchen and carport, a new roof, and a complete in and out pain job. The project started in March and finished up end of September. We couldn't have been more pleased with the whole process.

Replaced flooring, countertops, interior painting. This was an incredible experience from meeting Bill at the Puyallup Home Show to project completion. His project manager and crew were professional, courteous, and talented. Bill's subcontractors were true craftsmen who not only listened to what I envisioned but offered very useful advice. Not even the tiniest detail was overlooked. Each and every person who has a part in this project went well above my expectation to ensure the completed project was perfect in every way. Bill Sweatman was able to price out the project at a budget I could afford with which I was comfortable. I can't wait to begin Phase II.

We have utilized the services of Sweatman-Young, Inc. for several projects at our house and have been extremely pleased with them each time. In March 2013, Sweatman-Young, Inc. did a complete kitchen remodel for us. Their workers were always on time, very clean, courteous, and excellent craftsmen. They started the job when they said they would and completed it within their estimated time-frame. Their subcontractors were excellent and we were very pleased with our new kitchen. This summer (2015) we had Sweatman-Young, Inc. do some repairs to our deck and then had them paint the exterior of our house. Their painting contractor was excellent and very neat in his appearance and his work. We were again very pleased with the job. We would highly recommend Sweatman-Young, Inc. for any work needing done on your home.

We chose Sweatman-Young to build a back porch for us and to replace a two-door garage with a one-door garage. That entailed rebuilding the front of the garage and replacing the siding. It also included tearing down an existing back porch. Both jobs were beautifully done. While the one-door garage is very utilitarian and exactly what we needed (the wife really likes not having the "thread-the-needle" of a small door opening), the back porch is really a work of art. They replaced the old deck with a deck that has the roof tied into the house and clad it in composite decking. The rail system is wonderful (you really have to see a picture of the product to truly understand and we don't have one available to include), the specially built hand rails for the steps down to the yard work beautifully. They understood the plans, used them and improved upon them. The work was very professional, the workers courteous, careful, cheerful and competent. And they are good with dogs! We enjoy using the porch daily. It's about 400 square feel and we feel like we have an extra room to use. They helped us pick the product and stayed within the budget established. They finished our projects when they said they would. We'll use them again if we need work done and we've recommended them to others.

I ordered new French doors for master bedroom and when they took the old ones off I had dry rot all across and some of the floor beans, they came out and repaired it all and did a very nice job.

Demo kitchen floor and cabinets. Raise drop ceiling 2 feet and add above cabinet soffit. Install new floor, cabinets and appliances.

Bill Sweatman has 20+ yrs of experience in the building profession. Our first impression was pleasure at his calm demeanor and willingness to talk with us at great length re: our wishes/concerns. This lasted throughout the project. Because Bill has been in business so long, he has many 'subs' that he has worked well with for yrs and this makes coordination of a lge project like ours, quite smooth. They all spoke of Bill's honesty. The project took a little longer than expected but within reason. The quality was excellent. Coordinating with Bill and his staff, on a daily basis, made a very large project very "bearable". We are planning to work with Sweatman-Young again on an add'l project. We contracted with Sweatman-Young to replace existing windows, install French doors, build and install a couple of custom cabinets, build a deck (aprox. 300 sf) and work on a sloping floor issue. From initial contact through designs and design changes and contract signing working with Bill was extremely pleasant and professional. Even when we came up with a major change right before the project was supposed to start there were no issues with the process. Once the work started we were so pleased with the crew and the work they did. Every day they prepped the work site to protect the floors, walls and furniture if they were working inside and every evening they cleaned up the work site. They provided exceptional attention to detail in their work whether it was shaving down the back of trim to make sure it lay flat against an uneven wall to lining up deck board seams or the rows of screws in the deck to make sure they were all in line and created a uniform pattern and consistent spacing. Even with all the attention it was obvious they had the experience and professionalism to do the work at a good pace. And everything looks beautiful. From first talking to Bill at a home show all the way to the custom cabinets and the finish plaster work around the new windows we are very happy with working with Sweatman-Young and will gladly go to them for any work in the future. They were not the first general contractor/construction outfit we have worked with but you could say that they are the last because we see no need to look for anyone else.

I recommend Sweatman-Young Inc. We have had the pleasure of working with Mr. Sweatman on multiple home projects, including a renovation of our master bedroom. I recommend him highly and without reservation. All jobs have been done with care and precision. In addition, they were extremely clean and tidy in the workplace. They never left things in disarray and took special care to prevent any of the job dust from trailing throughout the house. Throughout the course of the work, the whole team was professional. They were also accurate in the initial estimates of cost and project completion. We experienced nothing but a positive experience and will use them in the future!

Bill Sweatman and his crew completed an extensive remodel of our house, which was built in 1941. The remodel included, but was not limited to, gutting and replacing the kitchen and bathrooms and rewiring and replumbing the entire house. We were so pleased with the remodel that we had them back to build a new deck and complete renovation of the exterior. Bill was prompt in communicating with us and always happy to answer any questions. We appreciated the attention to detail in written bids and monthly progress reports and billing. We especially appreciated the excellent workmanship by Bill's crew and subs and their sensitivity to the period of the house regarding materials and design. Everyone involved with Sweatman - Young, Inc. was courteous and pleasant to work with. This was especially important to us since we were living in the house during the work.
