With a professional, trustworthy reputation and a keen eye for relaxed, natural California-inspired interiors, Risko Smith creates environments that are functional, beautiful, sustainable, and a true pleasure to live, work, and play in. Her travels to New York, Mexico, Europe and Africa continue to influence her design vocabulary and vision for unique styles, trends, and products for residential and commercial interiors. The JRS ID studio is located in a historic Santa Barbara garden courtyard, where the team is often found meeting with clients and vendors. Otherwise you can find Risko Smith with her two kids and dog, Rabbit, refueling at Handlebar Coffee, oftentimes sketching more new world design concepts. Jessica is a LEED Accredited Professional and a longtime ASID Professional Member.

As General Contractors in Santa Barbara, we have worked with Jessica Risko Smith on a number of different projects over the last five years or so. It would be hard to find anyone more capable in their profession than Jessica. The ability to make any part of this field enjoyable, trustworthy, reliable, and exciting is an art, and Jessica is an artist of the most extraordinary level. If you have ever undertaken a remodel, even a change in design on your own, you will know the trials that stand in your way. After using Jessica Risko Smith Design, you will wonder how you ever managed without her, she is an integral asset to anyone thinking of making any changes. I cannot express her level of expertise and customer service. I would always recommend her to anyone looking for a designer, for any project, no matter the scale. Jessica & her amazing team will carry you through, and the results will speak for themselves.

Jessica helped us enormously and I am confident that my house would not be nearly as comfortable or beautiful without her input. Our house was a complete renovation and Jessica provided most of the interior designs from choosing paint colors to finding and designing a couch to fit our space. We continue to use Jessica to make updates and final touches to the house. She has always been very in tune to our design style with only a few photos and conversations to guide her.

Jessica Risko Smith Interior Design was instrumental in making our kitchen remodel beautiful, user-friendly, and timeless. Jessica was professional, detail oriented, approachable, and very helpful. To us, the kitchen is the heart of the home and our kitchen needed a vision. Jessica created a vision that matched our home in a stunning, but functional way. She and her crew developed a plan, picked out products and then guided us in comunicating this plan with others involved. Additionally, she listened to what we liked and heard how we needed our kitchen to function, thereby creating a space that would suit our particular needs. I highly recommend Jessica Risko Smith Interior Design.

Our house turned out just beautiful! In our home, JRSID designed our living room and dining room. Every detail was planned and executed perfectly. The choice of material and colors fit our vision exactly. We were so pleased with our home project that we hired JRSID to update our office as well. Jessica coordinated new flooring, paint and baseboards to be completed while we were vacationing. Again, the material and color choices were in perfect balance with our personal taste and branding for our company. JRSID kept to our budget and our time restrictions, making it a pleasure doing business with them.

Jessica Risko Smith and her Associate, Shae, were such a gift to my wife and me. Two delightful individuals, both highly experienced and skillful, with a keen eye and helpful spirit. They are excellent listeners, while at the same time providing excellent suggestions and guidance. Thoroughly familiar with building and decorative materials and products, they consistently and conscientiously moved the project in the most wonderful direction. We would use them again in an instant.

Jessica was absolutely wonderful helping us with our interior design (Goleta Residence site pictures). We spent many hours together and she was with us every step of the way. Jessica is delightful and easy to work with, professional, timely, and thorough with amazing attention to detail. She worked within our specified budget and listened to our needs and made suggestions accordingly. Jessica has the expertise and experience on how to do this so beautifully and I was always impressed with her ability to visualize how to blend colors, textures and materials together when furnishing and decorating a room. We did a complete remodel of our house including structural modifications and she helped us create our open concept floor plan starting from square one. Then she helped us with layout and furniture, and finally assisted us with decorating and accessories. She helped us create a beautiful home, which is highly functional and practical for our family of 5, yet classy and comfortable and uniquely ours.

Remodel of kitchen/dining/living area of a 1970 ranchstyle home. Designer was very approachable, easy to communicate with; we hit it off immediately. She is meticulous in organization, detail, timeliness, promptness, thoroughness. Her expertise is beyond the design concepts of her profession and her very fresh ideas; she has a very common-sense knowledge of the skill required in accomplishment of the actual work : how a floor is laid, for example, and the details of where & how transitions are applied. Her ideas are fresh, while still in keeping with the livestyle preferences of her clients.
