Dinosjed our house two months before our agreed upon date. Exterior trim fit and finish was shotty at best. Interior trim work was not alot better. Lawn burnt out and may not recover and exterior grading in back yard washing away. Forced to settlement in April when we were expecting june. We lived 600 miles away and no one could be there to water the new sod. We were told that is our problem. Pretty crappy attitude especially considering we paid a 10k lot premium. If I had to build again I would try a different builder

Sabal did a fantastic job, but I also had a bad experience with the closing law firm, Harvey and Vallini. Unprepared and unprofessional. The house itself, however, was well-built and we were pleased with the service we received from Sabal and the final result - our dream home!!

Sabal Homes did great in all regards!!! No complaints. Home was finished on time and build to perfection. I DID, however, have some complaints about the law firm that handled our closing in South Carolina. We had a disorganized and chaotic closing day, and the attorney was rude.

We had planned on housing a house in Jones Mill Crossing. Due to poor communication and the house being delayed because of not getting answers or a plot map before we were in for our design appointment, we hated the houses on that lit. Wanting to switch lots was going to delay us another 60 days. We didn’t have time. Decided to cancel before anything in the house got stared and they kept almost $5,000 from us. Sad and disappointed. Had such high hopes of them being a good builder and was really looking forward to working with them when it all began.

We moved in our Sabal Home in Summers Corner in September. The quality is a big step above the competition. The standards are the best I've seen in the area. They are able to accommodate custom request which was very important to us.They bent over backwards to please us.Excellent service before and after building.Highly recommended !

When my family was looking for a house we were not thinking of a new build originally. When I saw how much we could get and the quality and variety of choices I was ecstatic. Kathy and Paul made our first time home buying process so easy, fun, and informative. I also just felt like they wanted us to be happy. They worked hard with the hoa to get us the fence we needed for our dog and I love the space our floor plan has and the outdoor spaces. My screened in patio with the fenced in yard is my private oasis. I have a spacious garage and awesome kitchen too. I love my first home!

We relocated to Charleston and bought a Sabal Home. Relocating was so stressful because we had no idea where we wanted to live or know anything about Charleston. Thankfully we went to a Sabal community in West Ashley and fell in love with a move in ready home. What I appreciate the most is how Sabal made the process much easier as soon as we walked in their community. From walking in the door and now over 3 years later they have been the most helpful and pleasant people to work with. I especially loved the "Halloween Get Together" party they had so we could get to know our neighbors. My Dad has been in construction his whole life and he could tell how well built our house was. So happy we decided on Sabal!!!

My wife and I loved our Sabal home. The home was laid out in a very usable fashion with generous sized rooms and hallways giving the house a very grand feeling.
While the house was very well built and finished very nicely it still met our price point, we felt like we really got a lot of house for our money.
Being able to tailor so many details to fit our lifestyle and also get the look we wanted was an exciting process that really put our personal touch on our home.

I don't foresee us using Sabal homes again for our next house and the following is why. We purchased a spec home from Sabal Homes. So it was already built but new. What first drew us to their homes in the neighborhood we chose were the quality finishes chosen, it didn't appear like a cookie cutter neighborhood, and the convenience of location. The first time we looked at the home we bought the sales manager Paul told us the woods backing up to the rear of our house were protected woods owned by the homeowners association. That was a huge selling point for us and I asked again the same day to make sure I didn't misunderstand him to which he confirmed his previous statement. Well later after we write up a contract we make a comment about the woods to the sales rep that wrote up our contract. She tells us the opposite and that the woods are just protected wetlands. This was a huge deal because anything could happen to those woods later and that is one of the main reasons we chose this house. She makes it sound like it was my misunderstanding and it definitely wasn't. The day of closing we do a final walk through where you make sure all of the items that were identified to fix were addressed and taken care of. Only half of the items were completed and they had a couple weeks to do them. In fact my wife and I did a walk of the house two days before closing and none of the work had been done. We are assured at the final walk through that the items not completed will definitely be completed that day. They were not. In fact it took a month after closing to finish most of the items. I say most because later after living in the house for a couple months we noticed items that were not fixed. We looked at a copy of the checklist and these items apparently never made it on. However, the blue tape marking the item to fix was removed, definitely not by us. Also, after we close on the house and live in it for about a week or so we discover a water stain on the kitchen ceiling. Turns out our master bath drain wasn't sealed properly. No biggie, mistakes happen during construction and they fixed it. That's not the bad part though. My wife likes to keep a clean house and the day everyone was coming in to fix the water leak and drywall all of the workers were taking off their shoes at the door without us even having to ask. The drywall supervisor shows up, has visibly dirty shoes that look like they have been through hundreds of muddy job sites. He sees all the shoes at the door and asks me if he really has to take his off. I told him I would appreciate it to which he takes a heavy sigh explains his shoes are clean and walks in my house without taking his shoes off. He then looks at our kitchen ceiling which has visible water staining with some slight bubbling. He takes out a can of Kiltz primer to which I ask him what hes doing. He explains to me hes going to spray over the stain because the damage isn't that bad. Keep in mind I'm looking at a visibly stained drywall ceiling and we aren't talking about a small water spot. The damage spread across a good portion of the kitchen ceiling from the water pooling in the ceiling. I told him I wanted the visibly damaged drywall replaced to which he responded with attitude and told me that wasn't what he was there for. No till after I told him I would just call the construction supervisor Blake did he decide to do it but visibly showed he was ticked off. To add more to this bad experience the drywaller that was repairing it dented our brand new fridge that we just got a couple weeks ago with his tool. Now he didn't do it on purpose but also didn't claim he did it once I pointed it out. In addition to all of this over the few months we have lived in the house we have noticed dozens of just poor workmanship issues. Walls not completely coated in paint, nail heads sticking out on the wood banister for our front porch, cabinet trim coming off that was just barely stapled on, cabinet trim piece mealed together, etc. Then to wrap it all up if you need a warranty issue fixed be prepared to wait. It took me a month to get a few issues fixed and that's after I finally had to go to one of the owners of Sabal. To say the least not impressed. Especially for what we paid.
