Jim is a consummate professional with an amazing eye for details and impeccable style. I've had the pleasure of visiting a number of properties that he has designed, and it was a pleasure working with him on the Woodhead Double. The project was completed on time and well within the budget we set.

My wife and I have built two houses with Collaborative Designworks over the past ten years or so. The first we got involved in mid-way through the design process as investors/buyers and we lived in the home for a few years before deciding to design and build the second one from the beginning. Both houses were included in the AIA Home Tour during their respective year of completion, and the second house was also certified LEED Silver. Our verdict - we are now designing and building our third house with them! We have enjoyed the process of working together especially through discussions of our expected use of various rooms/features of the house leading to functional layouts that clearly suit the stated purpose.

Having met Jim Evans and having seen the quality of his work, we did not consider anyone else to design our home. It would be hard to describe the scope of the detail in his work - meticulous, precise, thoughtful, appealing. The builder, with whom he worked so well, joked how he was waiting to see if there were some minute item Jim had overlooked. He hadn't! The process was so enjoyable (and I had built two houses previously that were less than fun) that I wish I could do it over again. Would give more stars if they were available.

We hired Jim Evans to design and oversee the construction of our dream home in Houston, the Binary House on HOUZZ. Our house is perfect and was selected as a feature home for the AIA modern home tour in 2013. Jim has a detailed eye for design and the small finishing details that really make all the difference in the end. We are living in a beautifully designed space and are very happy with the experience we had working with Collaborative Designworks. We would definitely hire Jim again if we ever build another house in the future and we encourage anyone looking to build a modern home to hire Jim because he's totally awesome at what he does!

Urban Leasing & Realty

Jim Evans is incredible at modern design. I wanted to design a multi unit residential building echoing mid century modern aesthetics and found few architectural firms that had the talent and experience that Jim brings to the table. If you are looking for quality and professionalism, Jim should be at the top of your list.

Commented: how deep are cabinets above sink and how high above sink counter top?The upper cabinets are about 14" deep over the countertop. The wall cabinets are a standard 24" deep to accommodate fridge and ovens.
